When Is ‘The Way Home’ Season 4 Coming to Netflix?

My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3 deepened a lot of friendships and relationships.

Jackie finally chose between Cole and Alex, squashing the two-season love triangle between the Walter brothers.

SPOILERS AHEAD – This post contains spoilers from My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3, including the finale, so stop reading if you haven’t watched.

However, choosing Cole came with its own set of romantic complications, while letting Alex go allowed him to realize that he had deeply buried feelings for his longtime best friend, Kiley, naturally, after she started dating football QB, Dylan.

But the most wholesome couple on the show that doesn’t get nearly enough screentime or attention? Danny and Erin.

Danny and Erin have been going strong for a while, despite Erin previously dating Danny’s twin, Cole.

The difference is that Danny treats Erin like a queen, though the times we spend with them are few and far between.

But even though they don’t have our full attention the way that they should—and don’t get me wrong, they are still high schoolers who are figuring things out and making some poor choices along the way—they also kind of remind me of Nathan and Haley on One Tree Hill.

During a drunken moment on MLWTWB Season 3, after revealing that he did not get into Juilliard, Danny proposes to Erin, who drunkenly accepts.

Drunken minds speak sober thoughts, they always say, and this couldn’t be truer, but then the next day, regret began to settle in the following morning.

After Danny realizes what happened, he’s worried that Erin might feel forced into saying “yes,” even though she may feel differently with a clear and sober mind.

"A young man and woman stand outdoors at night, holding hands and looking at each other, with trees decorated in glowing lights in the background."

When she asks him if he remembers anything about the night prior, he pretends that he was too drunk, which is understandably not the response that she’s looking for.

Clocking her disappointment, Danny immediately realizes that Erin does remember what happened, and when they go out for dinner that evening, he confesses that he does remember proposing.

Erin informs him that she would still say yes, even if they weren’t to get married until years in the future.

Danny then proves he’s a true romantic by proposing to her under the gazebo’s twinkling lights, promising to get her a real ring when they are ready to tell people, while she gives him her necklace in exchange.

If Jackie and Cole can’t get it together, and Kiley and Alex aren’t ready to face the truth, at least one couple is proving to be solid.

Danny eventually gets accepted to Carnegie Mellon, which Erin is ecstatic about, but he’s worried about the distance, even though they previously said they would and could make long-distance work.

Erin tells him that he can’t give up on his dream, as he assures her that being with her is the dream.

While the season doesn’t reveal Danny’s decision, Erin’s reaction is further proof to me that they are a solid couple that has what it takes to go the distance.

Erin is willing to make sacrifices for Danny’s happiness, just as he would, knowing that they’ll always be here for each other, no matter what happens and where life takes them.

Neither person should want to keep the other from pursuing their dreams, as that eventually leads to resentment, especially when you have the whole world at your doorstep.

Thankfully, My Life With the Walter Boys Season 4 is already in production, so we’ll have a chance to find out where life will take Danny and Erin.

And my request? Let’s see more of their relationship!
