There’s one series everyone is talking about online right now—Prime Video’s hottest new drama, Off Campus.
Coming on the heels of the huge success of Heated Rivalry, the drama taps into hockey and romance in the adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s book series of the same name.
What Is Off Campus About?
Prime Video’s synopsis teases,”A college soap based on the bestselling book series, Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood. Season 1 follows the sexy and fun “opposites attract” romance between quiet songwriter, Hannah, and Briar University’s all-star hockey athlete, Garrett.”
Will There Be a Season 2 of Off Campus?
Naturally, fans are already eager for a second season, and the good news is that season 2 is a definite go! More than three months before the series premiered on May 13, Deadline revealed that the drama was renewed for a second season. It seems Prime Video knew they had a bona fide hit on its hands, but it also makes sense considering the series is based on a book series, which means there’s plenty more story to tell.
Not much is known about Season 2 of Off Campus just yet; however, much of the first season is inspired by the book, The Deal, so season 2 will likely be based on the second installment in the series, The Mistake.
When is the Next Season of Off Campus Coming Out?
As of writing, there is no premiere date set, as the drama hasn’t even begun production on the second season.
Are There Any Changes From the Books to the Show?
Elle Kennedy discussed switching up the book order for the TV adaptation, telling US Weekly, “The first season is Hannah and Garrett. You get to see the glimpses of the other characters, so fans are going to be like, ‘Who’s next? What’s going to happen?’” adding, “We’ll have to watch and find out.”
“I do think that they’re going to love it,” she noted. “I hope that they’re going to go into it knowing some things have to change in an adaptation. But they’re going to get the same feeling that they got when they read the book,” she continued, explaining that she wasn’t involved in the day-to-day, with the final say up to the creative team, but she did provide nonnegotiables about scenes and what needed to be included.
