9-1-1 Lone Star Trailer: Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler Star in New Spinoff

It’s almost time for the world of 9-1-1 to expand. 

FOX on Monday dropped the first trailer for 9-1-1: Lone Star, a apinoff of the popular drama series starring Rob and Liv Tyler. 

Premiering Sunday, January 19 out of the NFC Championship Game, Lowe stars as Owen Strand, a Manhattan firefighter who moves to Austin with the aim of fixing a fractured firehoue.

Owen knows all about fixing a fractured firehouse. He was the sole survivor of his own station following the September 11 terror attacks.

Despite moving to Austin with “big-city style and swagger,” he “struggle with a secret he hides from the world – on that could very well end his life,” according to the official description. 

It’s certainly an intriguing hook, and one that should get audiences tuning in. The 9-1-1 former is tried and tested, and viewers love it. 

Adding Lowe and Tyler into the mix is sure to keep people intrigued while the regular series is off on its typical midseason break. 

As for Tyler, she is on board as Michelle Blake, a chief paramedic haunted by the disappearance of her sister.

The rest of the cast is rounded out by Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, and Rafael Silva. 

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, the men responsible for bringing the original 9-1-1 to the air are on board as creators, executive producers and writers. 

FOX was smart to drop the official trailer during 9-1-1 on Monday because it is filled with the high-stakes missions that the original series has tackled with finesse.
