Absentia Season 3 is a Go at Amazon!

Spoilers

Absentia is the first Amazon series to really hit a homerun with TV Fanatic readers.

That’s not a surprise since Castle alum Stana Katic leads the thrilling mystery.

Today, Amazon gave a formal Season 3 pickup for the Prime Video hit.

The formality of the pickup is nice since they’ve been filming the new season for a while in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Those of you who follow Katic on social media might have already seen her hints at the upcoming season by way of photos.

Airing in 2020 in the US and select global markets, Absentia gets a new showrunner and some cast additions.

Will Pascoe (Orphan Black) will be running the show for Absentia Season 3.

Absentia Review: Aggression

Absentia Season 1 introduced FBI Agent Emily Byrne (Katic) who was at the heart of a thrilling mystery rooted in her childhood.

A long absence in which she was believed dead meant she has to start all over with her life while also trying to determine what in the heck happened to her while she was gone.

That set up the second season in which a terrorist gas attack gets the attention of the FBI allowing Emily to continue her trek to into her past.

The third season will open about three months after the Season 2 finale.

Absentia Review: Committed

She’s working hard to be a mother and nearing the end of her FBI suspension when a criminal case Nick (Patrick Heusinger) is working hits close to home threatening to rip apart the family she’s fighting to keep together.

Given the shooting news above, it’s not a surprise that Emily will be far from Boston and get tested like never before.

Emily will be forced to learn to trust again, love again, and to finally determine her rightful place in the world.

Geoff Bell and Josette Simon are the new cast members.

Bell will play Conrad Dawkins, a fixer for an international crime syndicate.

Polished and elegant, he does everything with style and class.

Absentia Review: Accomplice

Simon will be Rowena Kincade. A former Quantico instructor, she also served with MI5 and MI6.

Once seeing something in Emily, Kincade never stopped watching Emily. But that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s got a soft side for her.

In addition to Katic and Heusinger, other returning cast members include Neil Jackson, Matthew Le Nevez, Natasha Little, Paul Freeman and Patrick McAuley.
