All American Season 2: CW Orders More Episodes After Record Ratings

Spoilers

The CW is rewarding All American with some more episodes.

Fresh off the news that All American Season 2 launched with record ratings, the network has ordered three more episodes.

This means that the sophomore run will consist of 16 episodes. FYI: All American Season 1 also spanned 16 episodes.

However, the series’ fate was left up in the air after struggling to deliver strong ratings during its freshman run.

Once the series launched on Netflix, it emerged as a success story, garnering a lot of younger viewers to become one of the most-streamed series on the streamer.

All American Season 2 Episode 1, which aired Monday, garnered 926,000 total viewers — a series high.

In the demo, it scored a 0.3 rating marking the show’s highest-rated installment since November.

Even more impressive is that All American Season 2 Episode 1 was up 35% in viewers, 95% in adults 18-34, and 66% in adults 18-49 vs. its series premiere last fall.

Over its first season finale, All American returned up 72% in total viewers, 198% in adults 18-34, and 154% in adults 18-49.

A similar thing happened to Riverdale when it returned for its second season after a strong run on Netflix. The ratings ballooned to record numbers.

However, Riverdale failed to keep the boost for very long before trending downwards. Only time will tell how All American will fare, but this is a strong start.

All American focuses on a rising high school American football player from South L.A. is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High.
