We have another episode that starts and ends with a quote and honestly I think it’s one of the things that keeps me watching the show. Every quote teaches you something and gives you something profound to think about. For example this episode’s ending quote was “ what if being in that moment, means this moment passes you by”. It’s such a beautiful quote but it also is some incredibly good advice for whoever is watching the show.
I am really loving the dynamic between Anna and the rest of the rangers now. Even though it has only been four episodes you can see exactly the steps that Anna is taking to allow the rest of the rangers into her life more. We are also getting to learn more about the other rangers’ relationships with each other, Frieda is clearly one of the people that they all know the best. Then we found out a bit more about Zoey and her childhood.
I think it’s great that we are getting to see other characters’ lives and not just Anna’s, often when there is one main character the other characters don’t get as much development but that isn’t the case for this show and it makes it all the more enjoyable to watch.
I also enjoyed that even though Anna was more dramatic this episode and didn’t really have any sarcastic comment to make you laugh it was picked up with the rest of the rangers (and a sign that displayed Dead which was very funny). It really helps to not have a full 60 minutes of seriousness and allows us to laugh out loud because Geoff has had his last emergency cigarette and wants to go home.
The start of this episode gave us a first glimpse at life when Anna was happy with Zach and it was great to see their dynamic beyond one blurry night. I think it also showed quite a lot of progress for Anna considering she never used to think about the happy times with Zach and just that one night he was murdered.
As much as I loved this episode I really did miss Stanton. I get because of his job there is no way to have him involved in every single episode but I wish we could just have him floating around even if he isn’t overly needed.
This was the first episode of the show that I actually didn’t see where the episode was going to end up and I loved it. The double bluff of thinking that Lainey was cheating but actually he was a PI and that it was Tom we needed to be worried about and not Patrick.
Towards the end of the episode we really got to see Anna accidentally let down all her walls when she needed the group to talk because she is claustrophobic. Tracy Spiridakos did an incredible job of acting out the claustrophobia, you truly felt all the emotion of that scene coming through the screen.
Episode 5 has been talked about heavily in the media for it being a turning point for Anna and I truly am so excited to see what it will be.
