I truly don’t think I could love this season finale any more than I do. It had all the things that make this tv show so incredible: the friendship, the love, the suspense, the humour. It was perfect.
I will always be such a huge fan of a time rewind after the first part of an episode, and it worked so perfectly in this episode. It means that we get to see why exactly Jeremiah chooses this time to hunt Anna in the woods without the perceived possibility of anyone being able to save her.
I really loved to be able to see how different Anna is with everyone since the start of the season. Even just where we get to see everyone helping Anna look for Piedmont was so cute. The bond she has with everyone now is such a family vibe; the joy of them being together bleeds through the screen so well. Then to be able to see everyone else be split up from Anna and Anna knowing that people will come find her is great, especially since she wasn’t in that positive of a mood when she was in the cave.
Stanton and Jessie were absolutely hilarious in this episode. This was peak jealousy from both of them, but I am glad that it was handled in a pretty funny way rather than in a serious way. I’m generally not that much of a fan of triangles, but if we get these two riffing off each other, then I am perfectly fine with it.
I enjoyed watching everyone go into testify about what happened with JP and Bethany. I was so shocked that the guy just announced that Bethany is going by Paulson now. It was great to see Anna’s reaction to that.
Right from the jump, I hated Dawson. Even the fact that he was filming everything he was doing made it so obvious that he was using himself as bait. Although I definitely didn’t see him shooting at Anna, I just assumed that he wouldn’t want to kill her given what he just went through to make sure that Jeremiah could kill her in the morning.
This episode showed the true extent of how awful Jeremiah is. This doesn’t seem like the first time that he and his buddies have ‘hunted’ someone. He is seriously one evil person, and that last conversation that he had with Anna proved it all. I do think that even though Jeremiah is gone, that doesn’t mean the troubles Anna has with Paulson’s are over.
We finally got a little bit more clarity about who killed Zach, and by more I mean essentially less. Yes, we find out that the person we assume killed Zach tried to frame Anna, but other than what she looks like, we have no idea who she is or why she killed Zach.
I am super interested to see Charlotte Sullivan in this role next season, and why exactly is she going to see Molly? Is Molly even safe in her presence?
The ending montage of this episode was so great to watch. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched everyone have fun together. I think it’s such a poignant ending to this season, to show that Anna does enjoy everyone’s company and can see the good in all those around her.
I am ecstatic that Anna Pigeon has been renewed for a second season, especially with all the questions that I gained from this episode. I cannot wait to see where we find ourselves at the start of Season 2.
