Big Brother 28: Who Has the Best Odds of Winning the Jury Vote?

The game is coming down to the wire.

With Haley’s medieval-themed eviction, we officially started the jury phase. Now, everyone evicted will determine the winner of Big Brother Season 28.

Every vote counts. Every eviction is a $750,000 decision.

Case in point: the recent Big Brother Season 28 Week 8 eviction!

We have our first evictee heading off to the jury house. And soon enough, the jury will be made up of seven people who will determine someone’s game-winning future.

But do the remaining houseguests still have a shot at winning? Are the jury odds still in their favor?

The second phase has started, so there’s still plenty of game left to play. But a few of these houseguests need to catch up–and fast.

Let’s take a look at the remaining Big Brother Season 28 houseguests and determine their odds of winning (as of now).

Dee: A Tough Challenge, But Not Impossible

Dee is a strong player; she’s one of the most capable physical, social, and strategic threats. Out of the reality TV icons, she’s coming in guns blazing.

She’s won two Head of Household (HOH) competitions, been in many alliances, and orchestrated several big moves.

The Lyric blindside started because of her and Rick Devens. From there, the physically dominant Red Corner alliance imploded, one after another.

Dee can make a case as the Big Brother Season 28 frontrunner.

Dee’s problem, however, is that she’s a messy reality TV player.

Even though she won Survivor Season 45, she’s come into this season ready to shake things up. She’s targeted her ally Drew, betrayed her FAP alliance to blindside Mallory, and turned on the Red Corner.

Most of her reasons for making those moves were because she wanted to strike first. And in some cases, it was merely for the drama.

It’s one thing to play the game, but if you’re pushing away a tight alliance like Barrett, it’s doing more damage than good.

And if the newbies stay true to not having a reality TV icon, let alone a former Survivor winner, win Big Brother Season 28, Dee will have a major uphill battle convincing people to vote for her.

She needs to course-correct her social game and take the time to win over these newbies.

Angela: 50/50 At Best

Angela could face the same roadblocks as other reality TV icons. Sometimes, the newbies don’t want to vote for the returning player to win.

Dan felt this on Big Brother Season 14. Paul, rightfully, suffered his second loss on Big Brother Season 19.

But what’s working in her favor here is that she’s learned from her Big Brother Season 26 errors.

Not totally, mind you, but her social and strategic game has been so much better this time.

Overall, the house generally loves (or at least likes) Angela.

They cheered her on when she won the Big Brother Season 28 Week 6 Blockbuster. The houseguests also turn to her for support in a motherly role.

Plus, Lala loves Angela; she will fight for her!

Angela doesn’t have any enemies who desperately want her evicted. No one is gunning for her, except for the fact that she’s a reality TV icon.

If she can win a challenge or two and make it to the finals, she could secure a few jury votes based on her social game.

Strange things have happened in the Big Brother house. You gotta expect the unexpected.

Yash: Guaranteed Win

Yash is an unpredictable threat. He’s willing to make big moves; he wants the most serious threats out.

Plus, he’s easily won many challenges.

We could see a world where Yash follows Jag’s Big Brother Season 25 path to victory. All he has to do is win challenge after challenge to get to the end.

Lala and Taylor would vote for him. The reality TV icons would respect his gameplay, and he’s built new relationships with FAP (Melody, Drew & Barrett).

His weird resistance to working with women might be a thing of the past. But if he keeps winning challenges and building relationships, he’ll have the game secured.

Melody: A Long Road Ahead

Melody’s chances aren’t impossible. However, she needs to take the game into her hands.

Her social game is her strongest asset.

She has great relationships with Drew and Barrett. More importantly, she’s won over people like Yash, Angela, and Dee, who previously dismissed her value in the game.

Melody could follow Jordan’s Big Brother Season 11 victory. Her personality, alliances, and social qualities might outweigh her Final 2 competitor.

To win, she needs to improve her strategy and win competitions.

Start alliances herself. Organize strategic moves. Win an HOH or POV.

The jury needs to know how Melody won and wielded power.

Players like Yash, Taylor, and Rick Devens gravitate to this mindset. It could be the pieces that tip the scales in her favor.

Melody needs to become an active player, not someone fighting for survival. Without it, she won’t win Big Brother.

Barrett: The Tides Are (Slowly) Turning Up

If you had asked us weeks ago, Barrett’s chances would’ve been zero.

Sure, he was in The Crossovers and The Toolshed alliances, but he wasn’t a leading member. Barrett couldn’t be classified as a Floater–he was a Coaster, merely reacting to the game.

Ultimately, his alliances, and those outside them, wouldn’t have rewarded his passive gameplay style.

Potentially, Drew, Dee, or Melody could’ve given him votes out of friendship, but it was a stretch. Barrett hadn’t done anything to warrant a vote.

Now? The Rick Devens blindside plans gave us a spark of hope.

There’s a small fire burning inside him after Mallory’s eviction.

Barrett is angry and doesn’t want the reality TV icons to win easily. His strategic conversations have already improved, and he’s willing to blindside his allies, like Drew, Angela, and Dee.

If he can secure a few big moves and challenge wins, he can course-correct his game.

But if he falls back into old habits and retreats into passivity, it’ll be a huge hill to climb. You can’t win Big Brother if the jury doesn’t respect your gameplay or you as a player.

Drew: Sinking Deeper Into a Hole

Drew’s gameplay is frustrating, to say the least. Does he even want to play his own game?

For most of Big Brother Season 28, he’s betrayed all his alliances to cater to the reality TV icons.

He’s spilled details when he shouldn’t have. He’s thrown his friends under the bus.

And most frustrating of all, he makes the safest moves to benefit other players.

If the houseguests are jokingly calling you “Deven’s Son,” that’s not a good thing. Sure, it’s a joke, but it’s a negative critique of your gameplay.

Drew needs to shed the image of him being a puppet for the reality TV icons.

Angela, Devens, and Dee may vote for him out of loyalty. And he has good friendships with Yash, Barrett, and Melody.

However, his behavior has wronged many people. Melody and Barrett, in particular, are frustrated with his betrayals.

As the first jury member, Lala will throw salt on his resume. What’s worse is that his gameplay evidence proves her point.

Taylor, Lala, Barrett, Melody, and Yash could spite him for how badly he’s helped the reality TV icons all season. A minion-type gameplay protects you early on, but it comes with consequences.

Taylor: Rocky, But Full of Potential

Taylor’s chances fall into the same camp as Melody. The potential for greatness is there, but she needs to get into a rhythm.

All her initial plans and alliances have fallen apart.

With Lala’s eviction, she’s lost her closest friend. Yash is still a strong ally, but he can’t fully protect her, thanks to the BB Bribe.

She needs to take the game back into her hands. Taylor needs to start winning challenges and wielding power.

What could help her in the Final 2 is reinforcing that she is a smart player.

Granted, she’s won a Power of Veto (POV), but the house views her as a smart, strategic player who’s terrible at challenges. If she fails to gain more power, she has to strategize and make moves actively.

Lala will fight for Taylor in the jury, talking up her game to every evictee. That support isn’t enough on its own.

Taylor should make the second half of the season a strong, active resume.

Devens: Highly Strong Yet Shaky

Where there’s Dee, there is also Devens. They’re the dynamic duo of the reality TV icons steamrolling this game.

He’s a serious strategic and physical threat. The other side of the house knows they need to get him out.

The problem for them, however, is that he’s continually finding ways to stay.

Devens’ Big Brother resume is already packed, with an HOH, POV, and BB Blockbuster win each. And he’s been in multiple alliances that have controlled the flow of evictions.

He’s a frontrunner to win.

Angela, Dee, and Drew would 100% vote for him. On the other hand, he’s got a lot working against him.

Like Angela and Dee, his status as a returning reality TV icon is a negative for newbies who don’t want an icon to win. His resume will mean nothing to them.

But the biggest hurdle: his ego!

Rick Devens’ ego has grown massive every week he’s survived. He enjoys the chaos, and he’s willing to cut anyone, including his allies. The problem is that he lets others feel that way.

His Big Brother resume is a strong case to win, but his jury management could be his undoing. Rubbing people the wrong way has cost many finalists their chance at the prize.
