Big Brother Spoilers: The House Is Falling Apart While the Icons Keep Getting Protected 

Week five is often a pivotal point in the Big Brother game.

With jury on the horizon, it’s a time when the endgame starts to come into focus for many players, and they try to put themselves into the best possible positions.

That’s no different on Big Brother 28, as alliances and friendships have crumbled, and people have begun thinking about the long-term game. But what does that look like for this cast?

Well, it looks like another split house, though if this season has taught us one thing, it’s that the season is wholly unpredictable, and by the time you’re reading this, things may have changed again.

That’s the beauty—and the frustration—of Big Brother.

You turn away for a few hours, and the person sitting prettiest in the house is suddenly the one in the worst position.

And the icons are safe, yet again!

Too Many People Are Playing For The Icons

While some houseguests have FINALLY started to speak openly about how dangerous the icons are, not everyone is on the same page.

While Taylor and LaTrice recognize that targeting them would be a winning move, players like Barrett and Drew still see the icons as allies, even after The Toolshed’s demise.

In a late-night meeting in the HOH, LaTrice spearheaded a conversation, arguing to Drew, Barrett, Mallory, Melody, Yash, and Taylor that they needed to get the reality TV players out.

Although some people pushed back on also targeting Kamu, both Taylor and LaTrice were quick to try to protect him, which didn’t sit well with everyone.

It’s a solid plan, and if this group of people shared more information, they’d likely understand that teaming up would put them all in a much better position moving forward.

Unfortunately, though, we can’t have nice things.

Both Drew and Barrett decided to spill the details of the secret meeting to the icons over the course of various conversations, mostly blaming anyone not in their newly minted alliance FAP.

With Drew, Barrett, Mallory, and Melody officially aligned, Drew and Barrett decided that they’d much rather be in the icons’ good graces and rat out the others.

They also seem to believe that taking an icon to the end works in their favor because no one will want to give an icon the win, have them tell it.

Big Brother is a game of ratting, so that’s not really an issue, but considering the icons were ready to toss Drew out last week, it’s a little frustrating to see him trying so hard to protect them.

They are by far the biggest threats in the house, alongside Kamu. Still, so few people seem interested in actually making a move against them, with even Melody and Mallory saying that they might not want to target the icons right now.

That is a big departure from their previous thinking, largely because they want Kamu out above all else.

The House Is Divided

The house is currently VERY divided, even if some houseguests don’t fully realize that yet.

The icons now want to take a shot at Taylor/Yash/LaTrice after learning they’re on their radar, putting them and FAP on opposite sides of that trio.

Kamu is still actively trying to work with Devens and Dee, who aren’t nearly as interested in getting him out as they are the others because they believe he can win comps and keep them safe.

But Kamu seems to be firmly on Team Taylor and Yash, since the Red Corner blew up.

There is a world where Haley or Chuk, whichever one survives the next eviction, teams up with Kamu, Taylor, Yash, and LaTrice to make the split much more interesting, but everything will depend on who wins the next HOH.

This is a season where the big alliance doesn’t work, though big groups have come together from week to week.

Even the split house isn’t like one alliance versus the others, though there are smaller alliances on each side.

It wouldn’t be hyperbole to call this the biggest HOH of the season so far because so many different factors are at play.

If Kamu doesn’t win HOH, he may be in the most danger, with Taylor in a close second.

However, there is a universe where the icons finally go on the block, with Devens’ Diamond POV sitting in his back pocket, ready to blindside everyone.

That kind of move would permanently alter the game’s trajectory yet again.
