Big Brother Spoilers: The Power Structure Has Finally Cracked

Big Brother 28 is set to end in less than a month, and Barrett has made perhaps the biggest move in the game.

With all three icons on the block and Yash’s bribe out in the open, the game has changed once again.

So, has the icons’ luck finally run out?

The Icons Are Finally Vulnerable

You read that right: all three icons are on the block. Hooray?

Whether or not you’re a fan of the icons, it’s okay to admit they’re playing good games.

Though, you’d also have to admit that they’ve had certain advantages that other players haven’t.

Those two things do go hand in hand.

But with the numbers dwindling, they’re finally facing the kind of adversity they seemingly never thought would come their way, if their most recent actions are any indication.

The three of them have been in the middle of numerous flips and blindsides, so it’s a little wild to see them so outraged that it’s happening to them.

There’s a certain level of entitlement that has circled the icons all season, as if they are the only ones allowed to play Big Brother a certain way.

They’re allowed to lie and do what’s best for their games, but they don’t seem as willing to give others that same courtesy. Or at least they have an awful lot to say when they’re not getting their way, which truthfully, hasn’t been that often.

When things don’t go their way, or their standing in the house is threatened, they resort to scare tactics, like Devens threatening Drew and Barrett when Kamu was on the block, and Melody and Mallory were wavering on whether to vote him out.

In Big Brother, all is fair, technically, but that’s not a game tactic most people respect.

The icons have been playing the game since the beginning, and you can’t take that away from them, but everyone else is allowed to play the game too.

Including Yash, who they have now decided is the one they’re trying to shift the target to.

Yash’s Bribe Changes Everything…Or Does It?

Of everyone in the house currently, Yash is playing the best game right now.

He’s a competition threat with a solid social game, but taking the bribe from Dee, one that stops him from putting any of the three icons up on his next HOH, was not the smartest move.

If you want to be fair, you can look at it in two different ways.

Accepting the bribe was the only way to keep himself off the block when it was presented. But on the other hand, it completely handcuffed Yash since he’s not aligned with the icons, and it could be thrown back at him to ruin his place with the other side of the house.

And that’s exactly what happened ahead of the nominations.

I love a house meeting as much as the next person. And exposing Yash’s bribe to everyone was smart gameplay, even if Barrett ultimately still chose to follow through with his plan to put all three icons up.

Yash insisting that he only has to protect Dee, not the others, led to some fireworks at the nomination ceremony (some of which was leaked on feeds), and it now puts him on people’s radar in a brand new way.

The bribe still forces him to protect the icons, but things have worked out in a roundabout way—even if he’s lost a lot of trust with Taylor.

Drew was always going to target Yash, whether he knew about the bribe or not, but outside of him, he’s likely somewhat safe on anyone else’s HOH next week.

Now, of course, there is still the veto to play this week, and Barrett could very well look to backdoor Yash, but he’s put himself into the position of being public enemy number one for the icon group.

But good on Barrett for actually making a big move in this game and doing something that he felt was good for his game.

Maybe the icons would not have put him on the block right now, but the three of them would have taken him out before they took out each other, and that’s reason enough to make a move when you have the power to do so.

There have been many times this season where we’ve lamented the importance of an HOH, veto, or blockbuster, but this veto and subsequent eviction will truly be a game-changer.

If Devens or Dee, in particular, leave the game, that opens up a lot, especially for players like Taylor and Melody, who are becoming afterthoughts at this point.

And if the double eviction is on the horizon, like the houseguests seem to think, then the remaining icons will likely target Barrett, Drew will target Yash, Yash will target Drew, and Taylor and Melody will live to see another week.

Feeds were on fire today! And they should be throughout the week as plans start to solidify after the veto is played.

Side note: let us all pray this is the last week for the blockbuster because it’s ENOUGH!
