It’s difficult to believe we’re about to lose Brilliant Minds.
It was one of my favorite series last year, but the writers spent too much time on Sofia.
Whoever guessed that Sofia was related to Oliver on their bingo card earlier this season was absolutely right.
He wasn’t as far off as he thought. He’d seen photos of her, but he’d never met his half-sister.
Naturally, the writers hadn’t planned for the series to end, or they would have allotted more than the series finale for Oliver and Sofia to address their family drama.
If you’ve watched Brilliant Minds, you know that Dr. Oliver Wolf has always wanted to connect and belong.
It hurt him when his father returned and disappeared without a trace.
Without much time, we’ll never know why Noah disappeared again, but it was likely about Sofia.
Everyone assumed Sofia was a figment of Oliver’s imagination until she showed up at a bar and flirted with Dana.
In an Exclusive Clip for Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 20, Oliver looks for more clues about his father.
Oliver’s changed so much since the series began. He used to see his father through rose-colored glasses, and now he’s less jaded and realizes his mom did more than he thought.
It must have hurt to learn that his father had an entirely different family somewhere, and that he and his mother weren’t good enough for him.

I’m hoping we’ll learn what Muriel thinks about this situation.
She still sees the good in her ex-husband when she looks at their son. Their heart-to-heart is filled with so much love.

The best compliment Muriel ever gave Oliver is that he leads with his heart. He may document things like Noah, but he’s got way more heart and compassion.
It’s kind of ironic that he likely wants to find his sister and get answers at the same time she came to New York.
We know he won’t go because the main teaser is that Oliver and Josh tackle a case together that hits too close to home.
While I like family dynamics, I’m hoping that’s where Oliver leads with his heart. All the better if it’s all addressed, but that’s asking a lot of a series finale.
