HBO Max has picked up The Staircase, an eight-episode restricted collection starring Academy and BAFTA Award-Winner®, Colin Firth, as American novelist Michael Peterson.
The collection is a co-production between HBO Max and Annapurna Tv.
Antonio Campos is on board to direct 6 of the eight episodes.
Adapting the true-crime docuseries The Staircase and varied books and reviews on the case, this drama collection is an exploration of the lifetime of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina household, and the suspicious demise of his spouse, Kathleen Peterson.
