Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-08-26 suggest there may be a tragedy in store for one character, and it’s not one that’s terribly surprising.
Ever since Stephanie insisted on getting a gun, it was only a matter of time before she shot the wrong person with it.
The only question is whether the story will be more nuanced than it appears.

Stephanie Mistakes Joy For An Intruder
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-08-26 suggest the unlucky person who gets shot is Joy. This combines the accident with the burgeoning love triangle, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
An accidental shooting is a big deal, or it should be. In Salem, it might not be, since it was only about a year ago that EJ was shot in his living room.
Still, Stephanie’s story of the past several months has been about her PTSD-related difficulties after the kidnapping, and for the most part, it’s been handled realistically.
If Stephanie is going to shoot someone because her fear sets off a PTSD-related flashback, that should be treated seriously, too, not as an obstacle to the continuation of her relationship with Alex.

Alex’s feelings about it should be part of the story, of course. Stephanie could have just as easily shot him.
But the shooting itself should not be a mere plot point — it should be the turning point where Stephanie realizes that she did something dangerous because of her PTSD and becomes more determined to get better while all of Salem takes sides about whether she should be prosecuted criminally for what she did.
I don’t trust Days of Our Lives to do that, but hopefully I’m wrong, and they’ll surprise me.
At Least Stephanie Shoots An Adult (Or At Least It Seems That Way)
If there’s one silver lining to this storyline, it’s that it appears Stephanie shoots Joy, not the baby.
I was worried after the summer preview video that perhaps Stephanie would fatally shoot Kelsey, which would be a step too far for me.
Tragedy is one thing. Killing a baby, especially to advance a love triangle, would be too depressing and is one of the few things that would make me consider taking a break from Days of Our Lives.
Shooting Joy isn’t great — she’s still a human being who could be badly injured, and I can only imagine what would happen if Nancy found out about it and decided to descend on Salem.
Still, it’s the type of tragedy that can hurt without being too overwhelming or heavy.
Hopefully, the spoiler video is accurate, and nothing is going to happen to baby Kelsey, at least not right now.

The Scene Is So Strange… Could There Be A Twist Here?
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-08-26, Stephanie is at home napping when she hears someone outside, and her door opens, prompting her to jump up and grab her gun.
Unless I forgot Alex giving Joy a key, this only makes sense if Alex is the one to open the door — otherwise, how would Joy get in?

It’s likely that Alex and Joy are together, possibly with the baby — but again, it seems like Joy is the one who gets shot.
However, further spoilers say that Alex tries to reason with Joy while Steve and Kayla support Stephanie, so obviously Joy doesn’t die.

Is it possible that no one gets shot? That would be a great twist, even though on paper it sounds anti-climactic.
Stephanie would still have to live with a lot of guilt and fear, and Joy and Alex would be scared and angry at how close she came to taking one of their lives, especially if they realize that next time it could be the baby.
People in Salem so often get shot and nearly killed that a near-miss would be incredibly refreshing.
Plus, this type of twist would yield the strong drama that Days of Our Lives is known for, without a repeat of the JJ/Theo story that left JJ suicidal and Theo hovering between life and death.
Don’t Like This Story? Don’t Worry — There’s Plenty Of Other Drama Ahead

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-08-26 promise movement on the EJ/Cat storyline, Chanel’s breast cancer treatment, Gwen’s cat-and-mouse game with EJ, and more.
Lexie’s already begun to develop pain that sends her back to Rolf for treatment, and the spoiler video has him asking her how much risk she is willing to take.
This suggests that Rolf wants to experiment further with Lexie to see whether he can keep her healthy despite the unforeseen danger posed by his resurrection formula.
What do you think Rolf will do to try to extend Lexie’s life?

I’m curious as to what he wants to do. We know from further spoilers that Lexie won’t be around for much longer, so whatever it is likely doesn’t work or makes things worse.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 6-08-26 also say that Paulina will take extreme action for Chanel’s sake — I would love to know what that means!

Amy will also open up to Melinda this week, and it’s anyone’s guess what that will look like and if the two women will help each other or egg each other on.
Plus, Sarah asks Brady to help her investigate Destiny and Clea’s deaths, and later in the week, she gives Holly and Ari a gift. And Philip and Xander are back to threatening each other!
