The CW is gearing up so as to add one thing new to its lineup.
A live-action adaptation of The Powerpuff Ladies is formally in improvement on the young-skewing community.
Deadline first reported the information.
Diablo Cody and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti are connected as govt producers.
“The Powerpuff Ladies was once America’s pint-sized superheroes,” reads the logline.
“Now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having misplaced their childhood to crime combating. Will they comply with reunite now that the world wants them greater than ever?”
The Powerpuff Ladies was a well-liked animated collection about three younger sisters — Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup — who used their chemically engineered powers to guard the Metropolis of Townsville from an eclectic secure of supervillains.
Created by Craig McCracken, it initially aired on Cartoon Community from 1998 to 2005.
It was rebooted in 2016, with new episodes airing via 2019. It even had a theatrical launch in 2002, and the franchise has been common since its inception.
Cody and Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) will pen the script. They can even executive-produce, alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.
The potential collection joins The Misplaced Boys and Maverick, which have been each rolled to subsequent season by The CW.
“When a mom and her Gen Z sons transfer to the seaside city the place she grew up, they uncover there’s a sinister cause the native cool youngsters sleep all day, celebration all night time, by no means develop up and by no means get previous,” reads the logline for The Misplaced Boys.
“Household bonds are examined because the brothers discover themselves on reverse sides of a mythological wrestle.”
“In a present-day America that finds itself below authoritarian rule, the president’s daughter – raised to consider her father is ethical and benevolent – has her worldview rocked on her first day at Georgetown,” reads the logline for Maverick.
“Challenged by her fellow college students, and below the watchful eye of Secret Service brokers, she’ll should determine if her loyalties lie along with her household or with a rising resistance as she navigates her freshman yr.”
