FOX 2026 Fall Schedule: Not Much to See Here…

- Advertisment -

If you were hyped about the upcoming shows on FOX for the 2026-27 season, well, there’s not much to see on their newly released fall schedule.

It’s heavy on reality and sports, with little else to appeal to TV Fanatics who love storytelling.

Midseason, which is always the case since football dominates across both broadcast AND streaming in the 21st Century, will be far more to our taste.

There is one sliver of good news.

Those of us who love Best Medicine and Doc, especially as they were paired during the 2026 spring season, have reason to celebrate.

Doc has been renewed for another 22-episode run, so it will be available in the fall and spring, and Best Medicine has had its episode count increased from 13 to 14 for its sophomore outing.

Yay?

And hey, if you’re a fan of live comedy who feels like you’re brushed over during the animation domination night on Sundays, they tossed you a bone, too!

Animal Control will be snuggled between The Simpsons and Universal Basic Guys. I guess that’s their way of luring people who don’t watch either live or animation to test the waters with another type of comedy.

Most of FOX’s actual scripted ambition is sitting in midseason, where Baywatch, The Interrogator, Murder in a Small Town, and Memory of a Killer will try to remind viewers that storytelling still exists outside Gordon Ramsay yelling at people over undercooked scallops.

So apparently the future belongs to angels and animated homicidal toddlers.

Baywatch, which is headed for midseason, follows Hobie Buchannon (Stephen Amell) as a new generation of lifeguards brings all the rescues, hookups, and beachside chaos FOX hopes people still associate with the franchise, besides slow-motion jogging.

From what I recall of the Baywatch casting process, we’ll see a lot of what advertisers love these days: “creators.” Still not sure what they “create” other than channels about themselves, but here we are. Hopefully, some of them can act.

The Interrogator stars Stephen Fry as a brilliant former MI6 agent who uses psychological manipulation and behavioral games to crack the minds of dangerous criminals after traditional intelligence methods fail.

Marriage Market is FOX‘s attempt to reinvent arranged marriage for reality TV, with singles handing over control of their love lives to family members who match them up on the spot.

Which sounds either heartfelt or deeply terrifying, depending on your relationship with your relatives. For me? Uh, no, thank you.

And if you’re wondering whether FOX has bigger long-term plans beyond football, reality TV, and increasingly aggressive cooking competitions, they’re already teasing a Highway to Heaven reboot and a Stewie-focused Family Guy spinoff for 2027-28.

Highway to Heaven will reimagine the classic series for a new generation, following a probationary angel sent to Earth to help people in need while earning his wings.

Stewie puts Family Guy’s tiny sociopath front and center after he’s forced into a miserable new preschool, where he uses his inventions to drag classmates into bizarre adventures through time and space.

I’m not even sure what it says about their 2026-27 schedule that news about it includes hints of the following season, but it’s probably not all that positive. I guess time will tell.

In the meantime, here’s what’s coming this fall.
