Jesse Lee Soffer Joins ‘FBI: International’ as Series Regular

Spoilers

Press Release
Jesse Lee Soffer is indeed returning to the Dick Wolf universe, but not as the familiar character Jay Halstead from NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” Instead, Soffer has secured a series regular role in Season 4 of “FBI: International” on CBS. This comes after he left “Chicago P.D.” in 2022, where he portrayed Detective Halstead for ten seasons.

In “FBI: International,” Soffer will be replacing Luke Kleintank, who played Scott Forrester since the show’s inception and departed near the end of Season 3. The series also stars Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, Christina Wolfe, and Eva-Jane Willis.

The announcement has surprised many fans who hoped for Halstead’s return to “Chicago P.D.” after he left Intelligence to join the Army in Bolivia. Soffer had expressed his enduring connection to the character, suggesting a potential future appearance. However, his new role in “FBI: International” makes such a return less likely.
