Kanan Draws a Line in the Sand Against Raq in Power Book III: Raising Kanan Exclusive Clip

Kanan and Raq have never been farther apart.

That’s not exactly breaking news, but it’s interesting to think of the trajectory of their relationship as we wade through the final hours of Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

In an exclusive clip from Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 5 Episode 3, Kanan lets Jukebox know just how done he is with his mother.

Kanan places a lot of blame on his mother, and perhaps he needs to look at himself and take responsibility for many of his own actions.

On the other hand, Raq has done many deceitful things to her only son.

Raq’s actions have always been under the guise of keeping her son safe, but all she’s really managed to do is push him further away through a barrage of lies and traumatic events that have severed their relationship in ways that feel unsalvageable.

The fact that the two of them are the only people on the planet who know the real story behind Lou-Lou’s death hasn’t bridged any gap, and it’s hard to imagine that anything ever will.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 5 seems to be setting up Kanan and Raq to be on opposing teams once again, as Raq looks to get her up and running in Manhattan, while Kanan continues his venture with Breeze, Snaps, and Pop.

If things come to a head again, you have to wonder if Kanan will take the fatal shot he failed to take at the beginning of the season.

Only Raising Kanan could make viewers seriously wonder whether a son might eventually pull the trigger on his own mother.

As you’ll see in the exclusive clip, Kanan is deadly serious when he tells his cousin that Raq is dead to him.

And Jukebox doesn’t seem to push back against his words.

Speaking of Jukebox, she was prepared to kill Detective Garcia during Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 5 Episode 2 after learning he had brought Iesha and her family in for questioning.

Knowing that Jukebox eventually becomes a corrupt cop, you have to wonder if this moment could prove to be a pivotal turning point in her journey.

There are a lot of intriguing storylines to start this season, and the upcoming hour looks to be another wild one, with the streets heating up with all the action!
