The Ark Season 3 Premiere delivered one of the most heartbreaking moments that many of us said was the biggest mistake ever.
Lieutenant James Brice was killed in a sacrificial move to make sure Sharon and Kimi got Hammond to the shuttle and back to Ark One.
At the back of my mind, there was always the hope that the death wasn’t real and that he would somehow survive, and I wasn’t alone in that hope.

Eva shared that hope. As she looked at the footage over and over again, she made it clear that she believed Brice had walked away.
On The Ark Season 3 Episode 2, she made a startling discovery. As Ark One pulled away from the planet, Brice’s body was no longer in the middle of the spider-like creatures.
During The Ark Season 3 Episode 3, she continued with the idea, sharing that there were no drag marks, and that meant the creatures couldn’t have pulled the body anywhere.
Of course, nobody believes her, sure that she is dealing with the denial stage of grief, but the images for The Ark Season 3 Episode 4 are out, and they tell us that Brice could be alive after all!

Brice and Doc May Be Alive!
Most of the stills from this hour of The Ark Season 3 show that Ark One will make it back to Homebase-1.
This is probably the best move at the moment, as the team is dealing with the loss while handling the tension thanks to Hammond’s vibes.
He is clearly up to something, and they need him off Ark One as soon as possible!
We also get a hint that Angus and Kelly will be saved, as Angus is in Med Bay with Kabir.

However, one image takes us back to Ross-128.
Both Brice and Doc are in the shot, and they’re surrounded by what looks to be the damaged Ark that landed there with Hammond.
Brice is covered in blood, but Doc has a new shirt and seems to be a little more aware of what’s going on around them.
In fact, while Brice looks shocked, Doc is calm.
It’s a wild idea to have the two of them back, and it brings up a lot of questions about what could be happening on the planet.

Given the small bit of information that Doc wasn’t quite a doctor but a field medic, it makes sense that she would have survived.
It also makes sense that she would have the skills to treat Brice.
She’d understand the importance of using whatever is around to pack and seal wounds.
When I think of this, I’m always taken back to Owen Hunt’s introduction on Grey’s Anatomy, as he used a stapler to seal a wound.

It’s a matter of instinct and quick thinking, and part of me always felt that there was no need to develop Doc’s character in The Ark Season 3 Premiere if she wasn’t going to be used again.
How can they get word to Ark One that they’re alive, though, especially with Ark One back at Homebase-1?
This sets up for another intriguing season-long storyline, and I’m excited to see how The Ark explains how Doc and Brice survived!
