Rebecca’s father is coming to This Is Us!
Deadline is reporting that Tim Matheson has been added to the cast of the upcoming fourth season in a recurring capacity.
The appearances will be in flashbacks — taking us back to the younger years of Rebecca Pearson!
This Is Us Season 4 Episode 1, will find Jack coming face-to-face with Rebecca’s parents.
There’s no telling how things will shake out in those flashbacks, but we do know that Elizabeth Perkins will also be appearing as Rebecca’s mother.

The addition of Matheson comes just weeks after it was announced that the NBC drama was adding ten new cast members:
Jennifer Morrison, Nick Wechsler, Bahara Golestani, Omar Epps, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Asante Blackk, Julian Silva, Auden Thornton, M. Night Shyamalan, and Timothy Omundson.
As is the norm with this hit series, details about the characters they are playing has been kept under wraps.
NBC dropped the official This Is Us Season 4 trailer late last month, and it found Rebecca telling Jack how a chance meeting with a complete stranger can change everything.

Whether she was referring to her meeting with Jack is very much up for debate.
But it’s also possible that she could be referring to one of the ten (!) new characters.
The trailer also revealed some details about what the Pearsons would be getting up to — you know, aside from chance meetings and all.

If you’re worried about the future of the series, then you’ll be happy to know that NBC has renewed it through Season 6.
Oh yes, this story is not ending any time soon.
