Fans are set to see 9-1-1 return for a new season. Ahead of this, however, stories have come out that a few performers on the show have been dealing with real-life emergencies on set. This includes Oliver Stark, who plays Buck on the show.
9-1-1 Will Return For Season 10 On October 15, 2026
For many, Stark’s breakout role is Evan “Buck” Buckley in the first-responder drama, 9-1-1. Playing a passionate Los Angeles firefighter, he has been part of the show since 2018. In 2021, he also appeared as the character in 9-1-1: Lone Star.
The long-running drama is set to return for Season 10 on October 15, 2026. The season will debut with “That Sinking Feeling,” which sees the 118 deal with an earth-shattering emergency.
Prior to the premiere, however, Stark and three of his fellow performers allegedly suffered various stunt-related injuries over the past few months. According to a report from Deadline, Stark himself broke his ankle in August. The incident also required surgery, though he returned to set after his eventual recovery.
The other performers have not been identified at this time. The outlet claimed that one stunt double rolled his ankle during a rehearsal, said to have injured themselves performing the same scene as Stark’s. Another reportedly cut their arm on jagged metal, requiring stitches.
Oliver Stark Previously Spoke About The Last Season’s Ending Back In May
A third person was allegedly hospitalized as a precaution after awkwardly landing on a platform during a ground collapse simulation. This person reportedly endured a broken rib and a minor compressed lung. It is unclear if they have returned to work.
Back in May, Stark spoke with Us Weekly about the end of the ninth season ahead of the series’ return. He shared, “Based upon the ending of season 9 for myself, I think [Buck] has come into a lot of new responsibility in his life. It’s going to be a battle to see quite how he juggles all of that and contends with his work. … We obviously don’t write the show, and we just play the scenes as they come to us.”
Stark continued, “We love how invested the audience is in that relationship, whatever you view it as. We play it as it comes and as authentically and truthfully as possible.”
Ryan Guzman, who plays Eddie, also shared with the outlet, “If I could pick, I would love to have Eddie revisit his army days somehow, someway, or get a love interest.” He also teased that he had “no clue” where the character’s journey would take him.
