There have been rumors that New York Jets’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers might be part of the Presidential campaign for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. With those rumors come reports of things that Rodgers said in the past about several things. Rodgers has been outspoken about his belief in conspiracy theories for years and this includes the Sandy Hook school shooting.
However, Rodgers is walking back those comments now. Here is what the NFL quarterback and possible politician had to say about the horrific school shooting.
Aaron Rodgers Releases Statement About Sandy Hook
On December 14, 2012, a school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut shook the nation. The shooting left 26 people dead, including 20 young children. It was the deadliest mass shooting at an elementary school in United States history. However, there were some people led by Alex Jones who claimed the shooting was faked.
Jones claimed there was no school shooting. He also said that the dead kindergarten and first-grade students were not real. He also claimed that the families and friends were paid actors, pretending to be sorrowful about the deaths. 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed his mother that morning before going to the school and killing the children.
Because of his comments about the shooting being faked and the claims the parents of the deceased children were actors, Alex Jones was found guilty of defamation and was forced to pay $1.1 billion. The fine was, in large part, because he had the reach to convince others that it was faked. One of these people was allegedly Aaron Rodgers.
In a statement, after CNN released the report about Rodgers claiming the Sandy Hook shooting was faked. Rodgers said he now believes it was real. “I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy,” Rodgers wrote. “I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place.”
What Did Aaron Rodgers Allegedly Say About Sandy Hook?
In the CNN article, several people spoke up about what Aaron Rodgers reportedly said in the past about Sandy Hook. Co-author Pamela Brown said that she met Rodgers in 2013 and he brought up Sandy Hook in their conversation. She said he told her it was “a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it.” He then reportedly repeated a lot of things Alex Jones had said.

CNN spoke to another anonymous source, who said that Rodgers specifically told them that “Sandy Hook never happened. … All those children never existed. They were all actors.” They didn’t want their name published because they believed it would cause harassment from other conspiracy theorists.
As for Kennedy, he has said that he spoke with Rodgers about joining his campaign. When it comes to the Sandy Hook tragedy, Kennedy said he “believes the Sandy Hook shooting was a horrific tragedy. The 20 children and 6 adults that died December 14, 2012, brought the entire country together in grief.”
