Kai and Brooke are a married couple whose shared trauma led them to quickly fall in love. However, Kai has a shocking, heartbreaking, and very familiar backstory. Kai & Brooke Have Secrets In The Vault
Viewers will meet Kai and Brooke on the new series, Age Inappropriate. It is all about extreme age gap relationships impacting five couples. Kai is just 28, while his wife, Brooke, is 47, and they became engaged after just two months. They “connected quickly, bonding over shared trauma” and appeared to race to the altar, which is fine, as long as they were happy. However, Kai has a past in the spotlight, and fans may recognize him by another name.
If he looks familiar, that is because he used to go by Louis Risher and amassed viral TikTok fame thanks to his former fiancée, Maddy Baloy. She was an influencer as well as a teacher who chose to document her life with stage 4 metastatic stomach cancer. Kai, aka Louis, was right by her side the whole time, and in her last year, Maddy had a list of things she wanted to do before she passed. That gained mass attention, but sadly, she passed in May 2024. At the time, Kai/Louis said this of his late fiancée:
“Maddy did not let anything defy her. This cancer did not defy her. She just lived exactly how she wanted to live.”
Now, Kai is back on the scene with Brooke, whose real name is Beth. It is unclear why they are using pseudonyms on Age Inappropriate, but Brooke has also suffered a great loss. Her mother passed away from ALS nine years ago, with Brooke being by her side as a caretaker.
The Romance Bloomed
Less than a year after Maddy died, Kai and Brooke began dating. Moreover, she was not legally divorced from her husband when she and Kai became official. So, there are a lot of questions when it comes to the Age Inappropriate couple. However, they will likely explain more when the show officially begins on August 7th. It will be interesting to see how they connect as a couple and if this could be a lasting love. Moreover, how they came together and if there is more there than just shared trauma.
