Alec Baldwin Wants To Retire After Rust Tragedy
Alec Baldwin is a force of nature on screen, starring in several huge blockbusters over the years. He also has a bad temper, which has been documented for years. In one incident, he called his younger daughter a “pig” in a voicemail after she skipped a phone call with him. They later made up.
News broke in 2021 that there had been a shooting on the set of a film he was working on in New Mexico. The details trickled out slowly, eventually revealing that a woman working on the film was shot by a prop gun that Alec Baldwin shot off, not knowing that it had real bullets in it. Sadly, Halyna Hutchins died. The actor faced charges of involuntary manslaughter. The charges were eventually dismissed, but it was years of mental turmoil and a loss of jobs.
Things got so bad for Alec Baldwin that he let TLC cameras into his home for a reality TV series about his family. He shares seven children with Hilaria Baldwin, plus his older daughter, Ireland, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger. Hilaria Baldwin also competed on Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars.
Alec Baldwin recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he wants to quit acting. “I don’t want to work anymore…I want to retire and stay home with my kids,” he said. However, he also told the outlet that he has several projects in the works, including a documentary, The Trial of Alec Baldwin.
TLC didn’t pick The Baldwins up for a second season.
‘Chaos’ At Home
Alec Baldwin wants to change careers and become a stay-at-home dad to his seven children. However, an insider revealed to The Globe that the “chaos” was too much for him.
“They don’t like relying on nannies, so Alec already has his hands full. Most of the time, he’s walking around like an exhausted zombie with bags under his eyes!” the source shared.
The insider added, “His home life is a pressure cooker — and he still has a short fuse. He often struggles to cope with the chaos as it is.” To make matters worse, the legal cases stemming from the Rust shooting aren’t over yet. Alec Baldwin is scheduled to go to court in October to face a civil suit from a crew member.
