American Idol star Bo Bice is utterly unrecognizable following a major transformation 21 years after he competed on the show.
On October 29, Bice — the runner-up of American Idol Season 4 in 2005, behind Carrie Underwood — took to Instagram with before-and-after photos that dropped jaws.
“Well, well, Tinkerbell…Who’s THAT guy?!” the 50-year-old began his update. “Ain’t it funny what 2 years’ll do in your life.”
Bice added, “Here’s a blast from my past and a glimpse into my future with a new life, new style, but the same southern soul.”
In the comments, followers marveled at his changed appearance, with one Instagram user exclaiming, “What? He really looks different!”
Another shared, “You looked good then and now. Keep rockin!”
Someone else wrote, “Let’s go! I remember watching you on American Idol when I was a little kid, I was so upset when you lost.”
In April, Bice detailed the reasons behind his physical transformation, which included an 89-pound weight loss, chopping his hair, cutting caffeine, and more.
“Writing and practicing more than I have in years,” he shared on Instagram. “The faucet is in full flow again and inspiration has returned to well.”
Bice added, “I’m off of all but 1 of the medication[s] that held me captive for the past 7 years as I worked through the changes, transitions, tribulations, and turmoils that come at all of us. No drinking, no drugs, body clean from everything but natural God grown remedies.”
To conclude the update, he wrote, “Back into a comfortable and healthy lifestyle, 50 feels better than any other decade I experienced yet.” Bice also teased, “Back to gigging? Does anyone still want to hear from an old wolf who’s long in the tooth and short on worries? Let’s see what 2027 has in store for ole BB and the Bo-Peeps.”
