According to an interview with Parade, this new role is fulfilling one of her acting wishes. “I wanted to play a real grandmother like my own grandmother—a beautiful woman who was fearless, vital, dynamic, mature and interesting and who embraced her age.”
That’s right. MacDowell, who has been embracing her grey hair, has revealed that she has found more work opportunities now. “One of the beauties of getting older is that you get more opportunities, and the roles become more multi-dimensional and richer.”
Best of all, she is no longer obsessed with her looks, but about something deeper. “I’m really enjoying it because these roles are not dependent on how I look; it’s all about how I think and feel.”
