Taylor Swift Releases New Album With Surprise Twist
Taylor Swift finally unveiled her long-awaited The Tortured Poets Department at midnight on April 19. But just a few hours later, she had another major surprise for her fans. The album was actually a double album with 31 songs in total.
The album is expected to quickly rise to number one on streaming and Billboard charts.
And the surprise doesn’t end there. A music video will drop later tonight, but a video for which song remains a mystery.
The album allegedly chronicles her previous romance with actor Joe Alwyn and her brief fling with The 1975 lead singer Matt Healy. According to sleuths, there are also several references to her current love interest, football star Travis Kelce.
Taylor Swift’s album is sure to be a mega hit, but not all of it sits right with a Bachelor Nation star.
Ashley Iaconetti Takes Swipe At Mega Star Singer
Like legions of other Swifties, Ashley Iaconetti rushed to streaming services to listen to Taylor Swift’s new album as soon as it dropped. The Bachelor star is a self-professed huge fan of the singer, but took issue with one reference on the album.
In one song, Taylor Swift seemingly alludes to the years-old scandal involving Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and a phone call. Kanye claims he had permission from Taylor Swift to use her name in his song “Famous.”
However, once the song dropped, Taylor Swift denied giving her approval to the nasty lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x/Why? I made that b**ch famous.”
The video for the song featured a nude Taylor Swift-lookalike in bed with Kanye and then-wife Kim Kardashian.
Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti took to her Instagram Story to share her reaction to Taylor Swift rehashing the old feud. Ashley admitted that she hadn’t listened to the whole song yet, but had an unpopular opinion about it.
“Are you kidding me,” she said about the song referencing Kim Kardashian. “It’s been so long,” Ashley admonished.
“I understand having a grudge,” she added. Ashley wondered why Taylor was holding a grudge against Kim for almost ten years, especially considering Kim has since divorced Kanye.
She went on to say that she’s a “big fan” of both Kim and Taylor. “Maybe that’s why it irks me so much,” Ashley added. She also assured fans that she will give the whole album a listen later when she can give it her full attention.
As Bachelor Nation fans know, Ashley Iaconetti is expecting her second child with husband Jared Haibon. They already share a son, Dawson, 2.
