Scott Clifton’s characters have faced dangerous situations in the soap opera world. However, in real life, the star recently opened up about a harrowing situation he found himself in. Scott Clifton Took To Social Media To Explain Visible Injuries Recently Seen On The Bold & The Beautiful

Clifton has had a prominent career in soaps. From 2003 to 2007, he played Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital. Following this, he briefly played Schuyler Joplin on One Life to Live.

However, many fans likely know him best as Liam Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful. He first joined the soap in 2010 and has continued in the role over the ensuing years.

Over the years, fans have seen Liam endure a number of horrific brain injuries on the soap. Recently, however, Clifton himself opened up about a recent head injury he endured in real life.

Clifton opened up the share by noting that fans might have already noticed that something was off, as he had visible injuries on the soap. He explained, after issuing a warning for graphic content, “Some of you may have noticed the stitches above Liam’s eyebrows in Friday’s and yesterday’s episodes of #boldandbeautiful (along with a few playful lines of dialogue between him and Wyatt about it). Well, sometimes life imitates art, and Liam no longer enjoys the monopoly on head trauma.”

Clifton Also Shared The Support He Got From The Cast & Crew, As Well As His Medical Team

The actor then explained the real-life situation behind it. He shared that after a stressful day managing a crisis involving his mother, whom he assured was fine, he got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. While still hazy about what happened, Clifton revealed, “I woke up slumped over the edge of the bathtub, upper body mangled inside of it with my feet draped outside. Blood everywhere, a splitting headache, and an impregnable determination to claw my way to a mirror and see just how much extra work I’d created for the B&B makeup department in a few short hours. And that’s when I noticed the giant hole in my face.”

Clifton shared that he then spent the night in an emergency room. Doctors then stitched him up, reminding him to avoid a makeup brush for the upcoming weeks. They then warned him about “some temporary memory loss and cognitive sluggishness from the concussion.”

When producers Rachel Herman and Casey Kasprzyk heard what happened, they assured Scott to rest up and even rewrote scenes to accommodate the situation. He then shared that his phone was “flooded” with calls from the cast and crew making sure that he was okay. He ended the post thanking his co-workers, adding, “Thank you to everyone at Bold & Beautiful for your kindness, care, grace, patience and resourcefulness—from our incredible makeup team, to our steadfast on-site medic, to the producers, directors, and [Darin Brooks] for putting up with this newfound ugly mug.”
