Bill Maher mocked President Donald Trump for fleeing an assassination threat from Iran with the help of a decoy Air Force One.

During the Friday, August 14 episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, the late-night host, 70, poked fun at the POTUS, 80, for the way he left Turkey after a NATO summit in July.

“The Trump escape — did you see that? The Secret Service got a credible threat that Iran was about to assassinate the president,” Maher detailed during his opening monologue. “They had a plan in place as he was coming out of Turkey. So they did that thing with Trump the Beatles used to do, and they go in one car and come out the next car. Except they did it with planes. There were three planes involved, and they put them in the catering cart.”

To that, the stand-up comedian wondered aloud, “He can pull this off, but he can’t clean a pool?”

Maher then pointed out, “But the controversy with this is Trump put all his friends on the decoy plane. And not all. You know who he took with him? Pete Hegseth. I’m not making that up — that is a fact — he took Pete Hegseth in the catering cart.”

Additionally, Maher called Hegseth, the secretary of defense, the “perfect roommate” inside the catering cart “because Trump was in the snacks, and Pete was in with the complimentary beer and wine.” He reiterated, “It worked out perfectly.”

Maher concluded his thoughts on Trump and Iran by bringing up the ongoing war in Iran.

“But those Iranians, they ain’t playing. Iran, they’re feeling themselves lately, you know?” he said. “They said they won’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz without compensation, without lifting the blockade, without ending sanctions, without releasing frozen assets or the right to charge ships.”

He then quipped, “Or as Trump put it, ‘They surrendered like dogs.’”
