Joe Amabile’s popularity on The Bachelorette led to him competing on Dancing With The Stars. He later shared a scary story of a time he almost killed his dance partner, Jenna Johnson. But now the reality star finds himself in a scary situation regarding his own life.

Like many celebrities, Joe Amabile has regular, elective MRIs as a preventative health measure. The MRIs usually don’t find anything, but offer peace of mind. Shockingly, the Bachelor In Paradise alum’s recent scans revealed an unexpected diagnosis. The doctors discovered a glioma, a type of brain tumor that can become malignant.
It was caught at a very early stage, leaving him with a great prognosis. But still, it was quite a shock for the couple, who are just a few months away from celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary.

Joe Amabile Shares ‘Tricky’ Brain Surgery Update
Joe Amabile, 40, was mentally and physically prepared to undergo brain surgery. He even cut his hair short to make it easier on the doctors to gain access. The reality star was supposed to have surgery today, July 28, but took to social media to reveal a “tricky” situation that kept him out of the OR.
He revealed that he was ready for surgery but it was pushed back after he changed hospitals. The new surgery date is next week. He mused over the “tricky” waiting game. On one hand, he said, he wanted to get it over with. But on the other hand, Joe Amabile wondered why he was in such a rush to have brain surgery.
He received a lot of support for his upcoming surgery. Many brain tumor survivors chimed in with encouragement. Check out some of the comments:
