Bonnie Tyler Is Far From Safe
Fans know Bonnie Tyler’s music as the soundtrack of the eighties. She had hits such as “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero.” These were featured on Shrek and the Kevin Bacon film, Footloose. Sadly, Bonnie was in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, and was not feeling great. That led to an immediate hospital stay, but a bowel tear led to emergency surgery. Unfortunately, Bonnie experienced complications and had to be placed in a medically induced coma. They tried to take her out, but she went into cardiac arrest. This is not something anyone who loves her wanted, especially since she had plans for 2026.
Now, it has been confirmed that the songstress is out of the coma, but the battle is not over. Bonnie’s rep shared that this part has ended, but she has so much further left to go:
“Bonnie is no longer in a coma, but remains seriously ill. Although her condition is improving, the recovery process is slow.”
As to what is next for her, the future is uncertain. What is clear is that her shows, scheduled for the rest of the summer, have been canceled. She does have performances up until the end of 2026, but those are seemingly up in the air, as she remains in the ICU and is still in Portugal. On the bright side, Bonnie Tyler has a great team who expect her to make a complete recovery.
