DWTS Alum Brian Austin Green Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles
Brian Austin Green played the dorky outcast on 90210 who eventually became friends with the popular kids at school. David’s romance with Tori Spelling’s Donna featured heavily in the later seasons. The actor had other roles after the teen drama ended. But he’s turned to reality TV in recent years. He competed on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and The Masked Singer.
He joined Dancing With the Stars in 2021 and was partnered with his real-life then-girlfriend, Sharna Burgess. They were eliminated after 4 weeks. The couple got engaged in 2023, a year after welcoming their son, Zane. Brian Austin Green also shares three kids with his ex-wife, Megan Fox, and another child with actress Vanessa Marcil.
Sharna Burgess returned to DWTS for Season 35 after a five-year absence. Her partner is Bachelorette fan-favorite Tyler Cameron. Their scores during Week 2 weren’t great, so they may not be in the competition much longer.
Brian Austin Green revealed earlier this summer that he’s battled an undiagnosed neurological condition for years. He admitted to suffering mental health struggles in a vulnerable social media post over the weekend. The DWTS alum revealed that he was flying solo at the movies.
“I am at the mall by myself, I’m gonna watch a movie by myself,” he said. “I just haven’t had a good couple of days, and I think it’s important to share that. We have a lot of great days, and then some days … not so much.” He didn’t say where his fiance or kids were, but Sharna Burgess was likely busy practicing with Tyler Cameron.
90210 Star Gets Mixed Response
Brian Austin Green received a lot of support from fans after his candid admission. He returned to social media the next day to assure fans that he was feeling better.
“September is National Suicide Prevention month!! With the sunrise comes a new day. Thank you for reaching out and caring,” he said in the second video. Both videos have since been deleted. Parade magazine summarized the videos while they were still up on Instagram.
Brian Austin Green is somewhat of a polarizing figure after his comments about his exes, Megan Fox and Vanessa Marcil. Some DWTS fans took to Reddit to call him out for, in their opinions, taking attention away from his fiance during one of the biggest moments of her life.
