Layla will celebrate her third birthday on Jan. 31, 2023. She’s Evan and Carlin’s first child, and now, they also have a baby boy named Zade, who will turn one in March 2023. Most of the time, Carlin and Evan share positive posts about their kids on social media. But recently, they have been talking about Layla’s health and asking fans for advice. This comes amid Carlin’s ongoing mysterious health issues.

Carlin and Evan first mentioned Layla’s health concern in their YouTube vlog a little over a week ago. They shared that she was having back pain, especially after sitting in her car seat for a while. They weren’t sure if her car seat was the problem or if it was something else. Fans offered suggestions and said it could be a UTI, which can sometimes cause back pain.
Now, in their most recent vlog, they have another update. The couple revealed that they took Layla to see the pediatrician to figure out if a UTI is to blame. They quickly learned that she doesn’t have a UTI and were sent to the hospital for bloodwork and X-rays. Layla was a good sport and cooperated throughout the whole process, which isn’t easy for all two or three-year-olds. From the video, it sounds like the family is having a hard time getting answers.

At the very end of the video, Evan shared a short clip of himself talking from his hotel room while at a marriage conference through his church. The Bringing Up Bates star explained that he had received a call about Layla and that her X-rays and bloodwork came back all clear.
For now, the Bringing Up Bates couple will be getting Layla a new car seat and might visit the chiropractor to see if that will help. They are grateful it’s nothing major or serious.
