For the Camp Rock 3 cast, it has been a long road from auditioning for their characters to releasing the highly anticipated threequel. Now, Liamani Segura, Lumi Pollack, Casey Trotter, and Hudson Stone are sitting down with TV Insider to take us behind the scenes and share their hopes (and plot ideas!) for a potential Camp Rock 4.
In Camp Rock 3, Liamani Segura, Lumi Pollack, Casey Trotter, Hudson Stone, and Malachi Barton come together as the final five of Connect 3’s opening act competition. Ultimately, the five are all welcomed to open for Shane (Joe Jonas), Jason (Kevin Jonas), and Nate (Nick Jonas) on tour, after Mitchie (Demi Lovato) encourages them not to decide between the equally deserving campers.
Much like their characters, these Camp Rock 3 stars had to become triple threats, a journey that began with belting it out on their audition day. For Segura, stepping into Sage’s shoes started with a showstopping performance of “I Want to Dance With Somebody.” According to Trotter, who plays drummer Cliff, he didn’t have to drum at his audition, where he sang “Somebody to Love” by Queen, but he did send in tons of drumming videos. Pollack, who plays Rosie, learned cello on the job, instead landing her role with Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep.” Stone was the only cast member to audition with an instrument, playing and singing “Falling” by Harry Styles.

Much like their characters, these stars quickly bonded on set and with their “extremely active group chat.” While the campers plan to create “Cliff and the Cliffhangers” once they get their phones back after camp, the cast revealed that they have one group chat called “Rockers” and one called “Kevin’s Babies,” named after Jason’s baby Lennon McCartney from the movie. Pollack shared, “We saw the baby doll, and we’re like, ‘Oh, that’s our group chat name.’”
One of the biggest bonding moments on set was filming the final five’s infamous camp bus sleepover. Trotter explained, “I remember our director Veronica [Rodriguez], she’s like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna roll the camera for like 10-20 minutes.’ And then she was like, ‘Do whatever you want. Stay in character no matter what.’ And she would call out like, ‘Cliff, climb over the seats,’ or like, ‘Desi, go to the bathroom,’ or something like that.”
“Also, fun fact,” Pollack revealed, “We did like one take of ‘Echo,’ where we had a handheld camera, and we actually all were passing it off to each other.” Stone continued, “I think that was made for — that was supposed to be Maddie the Baddie’s [Ava Jean] video that she took of us.” While Pollack noted that it would be hard for the campers not to see Maddie filming that video of them, they agreed that the footage should be released regardless.

While the Camp Rock 3 stars couldn’t share anything about a potential Camp Rock 4 yet, Trotter gave his theory for what the film could be about. “I’ve been thinking about this,” Trotter explained. “It’s like coming back from tour, and everybody’s personality flips, which would be so cool. [Imagine] Cliff going [from] the humble, like super bubbly kid, [to someone] egotistical.” Either way, it’s clear that this crew is eager to head back to camp!
