A new celebrity competition show is coming to Fox this summer. Several stars will be competing on Nation’s Dumbest, a popular Scandinavian reality show coming to the United States, and we have all the details.
The contestants will be put to the test in this competition, but for the first time, being the loser actually makes you the winner. Confused? Same. Scroll down to learn more about the format, celebrity cast, and more.
What is Nation’s Dumbest?
Unlike other competition shows, the goal of Nation’s Dumbest “isn’t to win, it’s to get eliminated,” according to Deadline. The contestants are aiming to prove that they are not the dumbest in the group.
The contestants will compete in a series of physical and mental rounds “about all the things you really should know.” Those who fare well will be eliminated, while the person left standing at the end will be declared the “nation’s dumbest.”
“Nation’s Dumbest takes an instantly relatable format and flips it in a way that’s ‘smart,’ unpredictable, and genuinely funny,” said Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network.
When does Nation’s Dumbest premiere?
Nation’s Dumbest premieres on Wednesday, July 15, at 9/8c on Fox.
Who is in the Nation’s Dumbest cast?
Per Deadline, the cast of Nation’s Dumbest consists of: JoJo Siwa (Dance Moms, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Dancing With the Stars, The Masked Singer), Chase Hudson (TikTok star), Matt Leinart (former NFL star), Andrew Yang (politician), Elle King (musician), Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club, Saturday Night Live), Hilaria Baldwin (Dancing With the Stars), Steve-O (Jackass), Ice-T (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Masked Dancer), Carmen Electra (Baywatch), Dr. Drew Pinsky (Celebrity Rehab), and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite).
Ryan O’Dowd, President of Unscripted, BBC Studios, noted that the cast is “fully in on the joke.”
Who is hosting Nation’s Dumbest?
Jack Whitehall is hosting the show. Whitehall is an English comedian and actor, who most recently starred on The ‘Burbs as Rob Fisher. He’s also a cast member in Kim Kardashian‘s upcoming film The Fifth Wheel.
Whitehall has hosted the Brit Awards in the past, but this is his first hosting gig on a network in the United States.
Thorn praised Whitehall’s “sharp comedic voice,” which he said helps make the show “a bold, high-energy series built for big, co-viewing audiences.”
