A new leak of the CBS fall lineup confirms a previous rumor about the upcoming Season 45 of Survivor.
Survivor 44 is nearing its end, which means the hype for Season 45 is ramping up significantly. There have been a number of rumors, leaks, and details already about 2023’s fall season. All of them concern things like potential returning players and changes to the show’s format. Now there’s been a new leak, not of Survivor, but of the entire CBS fall lineup and schedule. It showcases some interesting stuff, but most interesting is the confirmation of a major change to the survival reality competition.
The New Survivor
The leak comes via a Spanish Twitter account that revealed the CBS fall schedule recently. The translation of the Tweet’s caption reads “URGENT, we reveal to you the CBS schedule for fall.”

The Wednesday schedule shows that new episodes of The Amazing Race will be premiering 90 minutes after new episodes of Survivor. This confirms a previous rumor that the show will be upping its runtime by 30 minutes in upcoming seasons. This change will have massive ramifications on the show. It completely changes how much time they have to show the stories of players along with their strategies. It’s a change that many fans have been asking about for a long time now.
It also means that this is potentially the first time American Survivor has taken a note from its popular counterpart, Australian Survivor. The down-under version of the show has had 90-minute episodes for all of its seasons. More so, the popularity of those episodes is what led many American fans to ask the US version to do the same. On top of the Survivor reveal, the schedule leak also confirms that Season 35 of The Amazing Race is premiering this fall.
Season 45
Season 45 of Survivor will also apparently be the first season with at least one returning player since Season 40. Bruce, the first player to leave Season 44 as the result of a tragic accident, will apparently be coming back. Whether this means any other players will be coming back or not has yet to receive any confirmation. Many fans would certainly have an interest in watching a season with all players who were forced to leave the game for one reason or another. It would be great to see other players with similar fates to Bruce get a second shot.
As of right now, though, Bruce is the only returning player known to be coming back. If it is just him, then that would make Survivor 45 the first season to have just a single returning player.
New episodes of Survivor Season 44 are premiering every Wednesday.
