Cheryl Burke Thanks Former ‘DWTS’ Partners For Everything

TV Shows

Many Dancing With The Stars viewers can’t imagine the show without Cheryl Burke. She was the first female pro to win the Mirrorball Trophy. On top of that, she was the first pro to win back-to-back seasons too. But after an amazing career as a professional dancer, Cheryl has decided to finally retire.

The world of ballroom dance will always hold a special place in her heart, but all good things must come to an end eventually.

Cheryl Burke pays tribute to her former partners on social media

Cheryl Burke only won the Mirrorball Trophy twice. However, during her 26 seasons as a pro, she developed an incredibly strong friendship with each of her partners. From Drew Lachey to Sam Champion, they’ve each played a special role in her life and development as a professional dancer.

Now that she’s officially retired, she wanted to take a moment to thank them.

“To all of my dance partners who each has played a pivotal role in my life, THANK YOU. Thank you for the life lessons, for trusting me with your vulnerability, and for ALWAYS giving each dance your all,” Cheryl captioned her touching Instagram post. “Though there were times of blood, sweat, and tears, I can confidently say that regardless of it all, not a single one has ever let me down. Even if ‘dance mom’ Cheryl decided to take over rehearsal at times, ha, you knew that it came from a loving place so thank you again for trusting me, allowing me to mold you into dancers, and for the amazing ride that I’ll never forget. LOVE TO YOU ALL! 🤍”

So many people loved seeing the slideshow she put together and wrote positive messages in the comments.

It was an absolute honor!! #DWTS #GETCHAPOPCORN #SEASON25″ her Season 25 partner Terell Owens commented on the post.

Aww!!! Amazing😍🔥🔥 Loved seeing you throughout the years!!! You will always be my fav💯❤️❤️❤️” a fan added.

Will the show give her Len Goodman’s empty seat?

Head judge Len Goodman also announced his retirement this season, meaning there’s an open spot at the judges’ table. Cheryl previously said she would love to fill his shoes. Unfortunately, it’s not up to her.

“They are very well aware that I want that seat. It’s not that I just want it, I just know that I can contribute because I am an expert in ballroom dancing. I can say that with confidence,” the professional dancer told Variety. “I can also say that my teaching methods haven’t been known to being sugar coated. … Len is really technical and really tells you how it is. That is my style. It would be nice to see two women on the panel!”

Rumor has it that Strictly Come Dancing‘s Shirley Ballas may take over Len’s spot. However, nothing is set in stone yet. There’s quite a bit that could happen between now and next fall.
