What To Know
- Matthew Daddario joins Chicago Fire Season 15 as a candidate.
- There will be a few changes when the NBC drama returns on October 7.
Chicago Fire is getting a little help from a Shadowhunters star in Season 15.
TV Insider has confirmed that Matthew Daddario will be playing a candidate. No further details have been shared about his character or his status is available just yet.
New series regular Da’Vinchi, who has joined the cast as a new series regular and whose character is the same rank, shared a photo from set on Thursday, August 20, teasing the casting. Alongside three fire emojis, he shared a photo of himself, Daddario, and Brandon Larracuente (who continues to play Vasquez) sitting on Truck 81, as well as other photos and a video from set. You can check that out below.
Da’Vinchi will be playing Marcus Burke, who is described as “roguish and funny with a wry sense of humor, and also a little defiant.” These two seem to be far from the only new characters joining 51, as Jocelyn Hudon previously teased “a bunch of new probies [probational firefighters], so that is very exciting for us, and I know the audience is going to love them” to E!.
When Chicago Fire returns for its 15th season, it has a major cliffhanger to resolve: Most of 51 was trapped in or right outside on a ladder an out-of-control structure fire. Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), Violet (Hanako Greensmith), and Novak (Hudon) were the only ones not in immediate danger. We already know that Mulroney will be exiting after one episode and original series star Joe Miñoso will be leaving after a “handful of episodes” in the season.
We’ll have to wait to see how these new candidates fit in at 51 especially after those departures — and considering we still don’t know the circumstances under which Pascal and Cruz will be written out and what the rest of the firefighters and paramedics will be dealing with at the start of the season.
