Chip Gaines is going solo for his latest TV project, which won’t actually air on the small screen.
The Fixer Upper alum will share his most useful words of wisdom and helpful tips and tricks with fans on the new show Pretty Good Advice with Chip Gaines, which premieres on Monday, August 17. The series will be released on Magnolia Network‘s official YouTube channel, with new episodes airing weekly through September 14.
“Chip will set up his advice booth at the Silos to offer guidance, and occasionally a little tough love, to guests who stop by,” the show’s official description reads. “In the premiere, he will help a baker determined to rebuild his life by rediscovering his passion for baking and entrepreneurship. Later, he gives an elementary schooler advice on going away to camp for the first time.”
The synopsis continues, “Across the five episodes, conversations will span everything from home renovation and business to family and life wisdom, all delivered with Chip’s signature humor and heart.”
According to the show’s episode descriptions, other episodes will feature Gaines helping everyone from a boy seeking advice on “how to stand out in his big family,” a couple looking for tips on hiring for their new business, a college professor asking Gaines for business tips for his students, and more.
The season finale, premiering on September 14, will see Gaines lend hilarious advice to a “young prankster” looking to pull the “best prank” on their siblings, as well as help a “backyard farmer [who] wants to know all about Chip’s chickens.”
The series is a true solo project for Chip, as his wife, Joanna Gaines, is not slated to appear in any of the episodes. In one episode, however, “a woman in need of some renovation help” will ask Chip about “his and Joanna’s biggest design mistake.”
Chip and Joanna rose to fame on HGTV‘s Fixer Upper, which ran for five seasons from 2013 to 2018. In 2021, the couple launched Magnolia Network digitally, and the channel transitioned to cable TV the following year.

Since then, Chip and Joanna have starred on and produced several of the network’s shows, including Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, Fixer Upper: The Castle, Silos Baking Competition, Fixer Upper: The Hotel, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse, and Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House.
While Chip’s new series prepares to drop on YouTube, Joanna recently teased that she has a new Magnolia Network project in the works. “These three songs are the daily soundtrack playing in my head,” she captioned a July 14 Instagram video of herself running in a field to three different songs: the Little House on the Prairie theme song, “The Sound of Music” from The Sound of Music, and “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler. “Anyways, we are working on an exciting project we can’t wait to share with you soon! @magnolianetwork,” she added.
