Now he can study abroad! A The Price Is Right contestant yelled wildly after winning two trips.
Jakob Feltquate, a film/communications student at the University of Connecticut from Boston, Massachusetts, won the second item up for bid on June 24. His win was posted to the game show‘s Instagram on August 14.
When Feltquate was called down at the beginning of the game, he stood in the aisle and did a backflip before proceeding to his podium. The student showed the moment on his Instagram when he watched his episode.
He bid $1,000 on MorningBlues smart speaker and digital frame. It was priced at $1,700. Since the next highest bid was $1,499, Feltquate won the prize and the bid.
“Oh my God!” he said over and over again.
The contestant then made his way to the stage to play Bargain Game for two trips — one to New Zealand and one to Italy. All he had to do was correctly guess which price of the trip was the “bargain” price. If Feltquate got it right, then he would win both of them.
The New Zealand trip was priced at $10,256. The Italy trip was $14,878. Feltquate chose New Zealand for the discounted price.
Model James O’Halloran revealed that Italy was actually $16,378, which was a difference of $1,500. Manuela Arbeláez was in charge of New Zealand. The actual price of the trip was $13,256, which was a difference of $3,000.
“Yes!” host Drew Carey said.
“Let’s gooo,” the contestant yelled as he banged on his chest. “Oh, my God!”
Although Feltquate spun an 80 on the Showcase wheel, it wasn’t enough for him to advance to the Showcase. Both of his opponents spun $1.00, so they had to spin again to see who advanced.
“Great win!” an Instagram user said.
“That was a fast win for two luxury trips worth over $25,000,” another wrote.
“Congratulations!” Enjoy trips,” a third added.
Feltquate did another backflip at the end of the win, which wasn’t shown in the game show’s clip. His parents and the audience cheered loudly for him.
“I brought justice for gingers. What can I say?” he captioned the post.
