Lester Holt Has Worked For Programs Including NBC Nightly News & Dateline NBC
Holt is a journalist known for his work with NBC Nightly News, Weekend Today, and Dateline NBC. He joined NBC News back in 2000.
Prior to this, Holt worked for CBS News from 1981 to 2000. However, the journalist recently had a big career update to share with fans.

In an exclusive interview with People, Holt shared a new podcast called Before & After with Lester Holt. Fans won’t have to wait long to listen, as it is set to premiere on September 14.
According to the outlet, the podcast will focus on “moments that divide a life into before and after.” Some expected guests include Colin Kaepernick, Jeremy Renner, Gabby Giffords, Rebecca Scofield, and Adrianne Haslet.
Holt Opened Up On How The Podcast Will Have A Different Feeling Than His Broadcast Work & The Stories It Will Allow Him To Share
Holt shared, “As a reporter, I’ve seen many people who, in the worst of circumstances, still manage to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. They figure their way. So we thought, what a great idea for a podcast: Talk to people who have been in circumstances like that and learn about not only what divided their life, but how they dealt with that.”
Holt explained that the podcast will have something of a different feeling than his television work, which is something he appreciates. He explained, “I like to let the conversation kind of free flow, which is different than what we do for a typical news piece or even a Dateline story. I said when I started this new chapter, I wanted to create and exercise these new news muscles, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

As Holt continued, he also shared that the podcast will allow him to discuss personal matters more than with his broadcast work. This will include stories of his racial identity. He expressed, “Even to open up that door, that’s a lot for me. That’s not the kind of thing I typically would do, but the whole idea is that this is a really informal give-and-take, and that there’s a space there that I feel I can show the audience a little bit more of who I am and my personality than I could in some other formats.”
