Jenny and Dave Marrs are commemorating the end of summer and the start of a new chapter.
In a Wednesday, August 12, Instagram post, Dave revealed that the couple’s five kids were officially heading back to school.
“First day of school for the kids,” he captioned a sweet snap of the kids — Nathan, Ben, Sylvie, Charlotte, and Luke — smiling for the camera with their backpacks, lunch bags, and water bottles. “It blows my mind how fast time goes. They are all the best parts of @jennymarrs and me. Love them so much.”
Fans sent their back-to-school well wishes to the pair’s kids in the post’s comments, with one user writing, “Happy New School Year! I hope they each have a beautiful year.” Another said, “Crazy how fast the summers go. Kids start earlier and earlier. I remember we always started the day after Labor Day and got out 1st week June.”
Someone else gushed, “Had to smile as I looked at this photo. As a mom of four children all in adulthood now with families of their own I was reminded how very unique each of them are in personality. Looking at your photo even shows that…clearly you can see each of your children’s personalities even in the way they dress. So sweet! Happy first day of school Marr’s family!”
A different person posted, “Beautiful family! Praying that they have an awesome first day of school!” A separate commenter shared, “I cannot believe how big they have gotten! I have watched you guys since when they were so very little! Happy first day of school to them.” In a comment of her own, Jenny described her kids as “the very best.”
Jenny shared the same photo of the kids via her Instagram Story on Thursday, writing, “Ready or not. Here we go!” She also shared a pic of Nathan and Ben driving themselves to school in their very own car. (The Fixer to Fabulous stars’ twin sons turned 16 in May.)
“They drove themselves today,” Jenny captioned the snap. “I’m fully unprepared for how fast they’ve grown up.”
Prior to the kids’ first day of school, Jenny revealed via Instagram on Monday, August 10, that the family had to rescue and return several of their farm animals after they escaped over the weekend. The family of seven also recently returned from a fun trip to Alaska last month.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 11, Jenny shared how her family celebrated the end of summer before heading back to school. “We reluctantly bid farewell to another summer break the best way we knew how – outside, together, in our beautiful little corner of the world,” she captioned pics and clips of the family enjoying time outdoors together. “I used to come to this exact spot with my dog, Bailey, in the years before we had kids. It felt like the perfect place to have one last summer adventure.”

She continued, “None of the Marrs are ready to start a new school year just yet. We love (love, love) summer. We love the freedom and the exhale that come from white space on our calendar. We love afternoon sunshine on our skin and late alfresco dinners. We love impromptu adventures and meet-ups with friends. We love everything about summer break and, yet, we are expectant and hopeful for all that is to come with the turning of a new page and a new school year.
Jenny concluded the post by writing, “Sitting at the edge of the water alongside my kiddos, I felt hopeful and peaceful and sensed a prompting to pray one word over this next year for each of them: flourish. I pray they flourish and thrive and shine as brightly as the summer sun on a hot Arkansas day.”
