Donnie Wahlberg recently celebrated a major life update with his wife, Jenny McCarthy.
On Tuesday, August 17, the Boston Blue star, 57, took to Instagram and Facebook with a Reel featuring himself and his former Playboy model spouse, 53. Wahlberg also shared gratitude to fans following their outpouring of birthday messages.
“To all who have wished me a Happy Birthday today — I thank you!” the New Kids on the Block heartthrob wrote. “To my family, my friends and my dearest Blockheads — I love you! I’m so thankful for your kindness, and support, you have been so encouraging.”
Additionally, Wahlberg shared a bit of personal news involving his Christian faith.
“Looking back over the past year of my life, the Lord has been renewing my mind, rebuilding my spirit, rearranging my priorities, recentering my focus, recharging my energy, reshaping my heart, refining my faith, restoring my joy and redeeming my life!” he declared. “I don’t know where I would be without Jesus, but I know where I will be with Him! All the glory is His! Thank you again and God bless you all! 🙏🏼❤️🙌🏼🥹.”
Included in the video montage were clips of both Wahlberg and McCarthy being baptized.
In the comments, Wahlberg’s followers celebrated the baptisms and his message, with one Instagram user writing, “Giving your life to Jesus. The greatest decision any of us will make. Happy birthday. Keep chasing after Him!”

McCarthy and Wahlberg, who married in 2013, have opened up more about their Catholic faith in recent years. During a 2022 interview, the Blue Bloods actor explained the impact of religion on his life during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
“[The faith] part of the discipline has really afforded me all the other wonderful things in my life, my family, my career, being able to turn my life around,” he shared. “I grew up from very humble beginnings, obviously had a troubled youth.”
Wahlberg added, “Once I realized that God was calling me and really wanting to help me and turn my life around, and knew that I had potential. Once I started to become more disciplined, really, the world became full of opportunity. So, I just want to share that with people and their own. But just being the best versions of themselves.”
