It’s like Bob Barker hosted The Price Is Right one more time. In a behind-the-scenes clip, host Drew Carey emulated the late host, and fans reacted to it.

“Do not hold back! #PriceIsRight,” the Instagram post on July 13 was captioned. “Bob Barker’s spirit lives on in Drew Carey.”

As four contestants stood at Bidder’s Row, Carey walked across the stage, facing announcer George Gray, and said with an accent, “Cause I know, Bob Barker was in my soul.” The host leaned down, faced the crowd, and put a hand up to his chest. The crowd cheered.

After laughing and composing himself, Carey walked to where the audience sat and said, “Now, I want you all to reach in your pocket. Get the biggest bill you have in your pocket. I’ve got to make it hurt for Jesus!” Barker often told contestants not to hurt him when they ran onto the stage.

“If all you got is a 20, I wanna see that $20 bill!” Carey continued. “If all you got is a five, I want to see that five.” He walked up and down the audience. “Do not hold back,” the host said. “Do not hold back!”

“Brother Steven is feeling Bob’s spirit right now,” Carey said as he walked to a crew member. The crew member waved his hand and then folded over. This made Carey crack up.

The bit referred to when Barker would tell contestants to reach into his suit pocket and pull out a $100 bonus, specifically when a contestant guessed the price exactly at Bidder’s Row.

“Bob was like, Let me reach down into Drew’s spirit and host the show for a few seconds,” an Instagram user said.

“Please post more behind-the-scenes videos,” another fan asked.

“You gotta love Drew,” multiple fans said.

“That’s a good one,” a fourth added.

“Carey is crazy, but you gotta love him,” an Instagram user wrote.

Some fans said he was pretending to be sportscaster Monty Hall, while others thought he was doing Gospel singer and Pastor Marvin Sapp. “Bro really pulled a Marvin Sapp,” a fan added with crying emojis.

“Drew is no Bob, and Bob was no Drew. They are different, but both are excellent,” one last fan said.

Barker hosted The Price Is Right from its inception in 1972 to 2007. Carey took over for him in October 2007. Barker died at the age of 99 on August 26, 2023, of natural causes.
