‘DWTS’: Artem Chigvintsev Dishes On Heidi D’Amelio’s Progress

TV Shows

Artem Chigvintsev first won Dancing With The Stars back in Season 29. That year he partnered with Bachelor Nation’s Kaitlyn Bristowe to bring home the Mirrorball Trophy. Last year, he paired with The Office star Melora Hardin and the two made it pretty far in the competition.

This year, Artem and Heidi D’Amelio are competing together. She’s the mother of her DWTS competitor, Charli D’Amelio, who currently holds the highest score in the competition.

Heidi herself recently admitted that she thought about pulling out of the competition. So what does Artem have to say about that and her progress so far?

Artem Chigvintsev hadn’t realized Heidi D’Amelio was thinking about quitting the competition

Just before Dancing With The Stars Season 31 began, Artem Chigvintsev finally married his fiancee Nikki Bella. They flew off to Paris and had a beautiful ceremony that will later be turned into an E! special. But for now, Artem is really focused on the ballroom and his partner Heidi.

Nikki Bella admitted she always has a tough time when Artem is away for work. But she does have plenty to keep her busy. She runs a podcast with her sister Brie and the two decided to check in with Artem in a recent episode.

In the clip, one of the twins starts by asking Artem how he feels about Heidi’s performance. The Russian dancer replies that he feels good about the performance they ultimately gave, especially considering all the problems they had leading up to the opening night.

After the show, Heidi D’Amelio confessed to the press she was thinking about quitting in the days leading up to opening night.

“So, I was fine up until last Tuesday, and then Wednesday, rehearsal was awful and I was on the verge of crying. But I was like, ‘I am not going to let [Artem] see me cry, I am not going to do that,’” the reality TV mom told Page Six in an interview. Her daughter Charli talked her into sticking around.

“She told me everything I used to tell her when she was a kid and in dance,” Heidi told Page Six. “So to hear those words coming out of her mouth to me, I was like, ‘Alright, I get it.’ It was great advice.”

Artem admitted in the clip he hadn’t realized she was thinking about quitting the show and he’s really glad she stayed.

The pair will return Monday for Elvis Night

Hopefully, things are going much better for Artem and Heidi in the rehearsal room this week. Tomorrow is Elvis Night and the pair will perform the Foxtrot to “Suspicious Minds.”

Elvis Night starts at 8 PM eastern time on Disney+ tomorrow night. Tune in and don’t forget to vote for your favorite competitors. Heidi and Artem need your votes and so do the other couples!
