Cody Simpson’s Long Road
Followers may remember Cody Simpson from his time on Dancing With the Stars. He was paired up with Witney Carson, but sadly, they did not make it very far. However, he also dated some high-profile ladies. He had briefly dated a young Kylie Jenner in 2011. Then, the Australian-born performer was linked to model Gigi Hadid, and his mother appeared on RHOBH. She was a close friend of Yolanda Hadid’s, who was holed up in an apartment while battling Lyme Disease. For nearly a year, he had a very public romance with Miley Cyrus, and recently, Cody ended a four-year relationship.
Now, in a twist, the former DWTS celeb shared horrible news that he is struggling to walk. Not only that, but he cannot talk, which is awful for someone who makes his living by singing. Via his social media, the twenty-nine-year-old explained that he was able to finish up some music before tragedy struck. Furthermore, he will still put out more songs while he is on the mend. So, what happened? Per Instagram, Cody explained this:
“The universe is serving it to me this year! An update on where I’ve been: I’ve been on and off vocal rest for close to 3 months trying to heal a damaged vocal cord. We decided to operate to aid the recovery, then I dislocated my knee rehearsing for a new music video and we had to push surgery back to let my knee settle.”
The bottom line with Cody Simpson is that he has been doing too much for far too long. Ultimately, it all caught up with him, and now, he is paying the price. He concluded his message with this:
“I can’t walk or talk for some time now, and no singing or dancing for months to come.”
