The Dancing With The Stars cast may consider themselves one big, happy family. However, they fight like any other family. Val Chmerkovskiy recently went to battle with Carrie Ann Inaba in defense of his wife, Jenna Johnson. Now, details have emerged about a past feud between Witney Carson and Mark Ballas.
Alexa and Carlos Peñavega made history in Season 21 as the first married couple to compete on DWTS. She was paired with Mark Ballas, and Carlos danced with Witney Carson. Alexa previously said that her husband was extremely jealous and ruined her time on the show.
“I loved the show, but because Carlos was not at the time where he is now with his level of comfort — there were just insecurities — that made my experience so much harder,” she said earlier this year. Now the couple spilled even more tea on their season by revealing a feud between Witney Carson and Mark Ballas.

Alexa and Carlos Peñavega looked back on their time on DWTS during a recent episode of their LEXLOS podcast. Alexa claimed that things were so tense between Witney and Mark that they refused to be in the same room together.
“There’s a lot of drama behind-the-scenes,” she said. “At the time, Witney and Mark were not getting along at all so they refused to be in the same room together and that was really hard because we’re married.”
Alexa revealed that she joined the show to spend as much time with her husband as possible, but the alleged feud made that impossible. “It was like, oh my gosh, we thought we were going to be even rehearsing in the same room and now we have to be so separate. We have to like dance around whatever’s going on with them,” she said.
Her husband described Mark’s choreography as “outside the box,” because he wanted to win so bad. But Carlos and Witney were the ones who made it to the finals, finishing in fourth place.
Fans Convinced Witney & Mark Had Fling
While the former DWTS contestants claimed Mark and Witney hated each other’s guts in 2015, they were allegedly much closer years ago. It’s been long rumored among fans that Mark and Witney had a fling or a hookup before they married other people.
Witney Carson married high school sweetheart Carson McAllister in 2016. She competed on Season 35 while pregnant with their third child. Mark Ballas married BC Jean in 2016. But there was allegedly a time when Mark and Witney were both single and hooked up.
