Fans begged Season 34 DWTS winner Robert Irwin to look for love on The Bachelor. Now, they’ve set their sights on Ezra Frech. The Paralympian is a standout on Season 35 of the dance competition. He broke his silence on the speculation that he could be ABC’s next Bachelor lead. Keep reading for all the details.

Ezra Frech Admits His Disability Is Tough On DWTS Partner Daniella Karagach

Ezra Frech was born without a left knee, left fibula, and only one finger on his left hand. When he was 9, he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after gaining attention as a young single-leg amputee athlete. He spoke about his dreams of competing in the Paralympics someday.

Ezra Frech made his debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games held in 2021. He finished fifth in the high jump and eighth in the long jump. He competed again at the Paris Games in 2024, winning two gold medals in the men’s 100-meter race and the high jump.

The gold medalist was paired with Daniella Karagach for Season 35 of Dancing With The Stars. Ezra Frech competes using his running blade instead of his walking prosthetic because it gives him more freedom on the dance floor.

He’s done quite well in the competition so far, receiving a 24 out of 30 for his last performance. However, he admitted that his partner has her work cut out for her due to his disability.

“Every step I’m taking, every time I’m rising, it has to be on the left, and then every time I fall, it has to be on the right. And so that’s just a challenge for her to choreograph that she’s never had to deal with before. But I’m so grateful that she is excited about the whole process,” he told Sports Illustrated.

Could the 21-year-old be the first Paralympian Bachelor lead?

He Breaks Silence On Bachelor Speculation

Paralympian Trenten Merrill was cast on Season 22 of The Bachelorette. However, the season never aired after Taylor Frankie Paul’s domestic violence arrest sparked backlash. In fact, the Bachelor Nation franchise hasn’t aired anything new since Grant Ellis’ Bachelor season in 2025.

However, ABC plans to bring The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise back to TV in 2027. In fact, The Bachelor should start filming soon if it’s going to air in January. But the network hasn’t revealed a lead for Season 30.

Ezra Frech’s name has been thrown around online as a possible candidate. He was taken aback when the New York Post brought it to his attention. “Really? Wow. I did not know people were saying that. That is really, really funny,” he said.

“I don’t know, I’d have to see,” he added. Ezra Frech’s schedule is about to get busy after Dancing With The Stars. He has to start training for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, California. But he didn’t say no to The Bachelor!
