It’s been an intense week for Dancing with the Stars fans after Val Chmerkovskiy got suspended for defending his wife and threatening a judge. However, the show must go on. Now, Jenna Dewan is competing without her usual dancing partner. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have any support. Keep reading for all the details on what’s going down.
DWTS Val Chmerkovskiy Gets Suspended
DWTS fans will not get to see Val dance this week as he has been suspended. This all started when Val’s wife, Jenna Johnson, got called out for a lift during last week’s episode by DWTS legend, Carrie Ann Inaba. Traditionally, lifts are not allowed in the samba. However, two dancers did help lift her partner, Harry, during their performance. Because of this, Jenna got called out by Carrie Ann. While she was confused, her husband took it one step further while trying to defend her.
After the critique, he took to social media, making a comment that made it sound as though he was going to be violent towards Carrie Ann.
“You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night,” he wrote online.
This seemed to be a direct nod to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock as the Oscars a few years ago when Chris made a joke about Will’s wife.
Despite his apology, DWTS does not condone any sort of violence. So, this comment led to his suspension for the week.
The Show Must Go On
Of course, despite Val getting suspended, his partner is still in the game. This week, Jenna Dewan will be taking the stage with previously eliminated pro, Alan Bernsten, until her original partner is able to return – which should be next week. While this may seem like a small change, it can take a lot for a dancer to adapt to a new partner in such a short amount of time and still put out a high-scoring performance.
Luckily for Jenna, she has a lot of support in her corner as she navigates this change. Once again, her fiancé is standing by her and sharing encouraging words Yahoo! reports.
Support From Her Fiancé
“Everytime I think I can’t love you more, your grace, your class and your heart prove me wrong,” her fiance, Steve Kazee, writes alongside a photo of himself with Jenna. “You got this baby! We got you!”
Earlier this season, Jenna and Val were hit with quite a bit of drama when fans started accusing them of having too much chemistry with one another, considering they both have very serious partners. However, once again, Steve stood by his woman saying “They don’t have chemistry,” he starts. He continues, saying, “They have too much chemistry. They have chemistry in the wrong places. Make up your minds.”
It seems that Jenna Dewan is very lucky to have Steve in her corner during this season of DWTS. Only time will tell how she is able to do after switching partners unexpectedly.
