Former Dancing With The Stars pro dancer Kym Herjavec is in mourning this week. Although she left the show some time ago, many fans follow her online and keep up with her life.

Pro Dancer Kym Herjavec Speaks On The Bondi Junction Attack
Before she was Kym Herjavec, the professional dancer was simply Kym Johnson, a professional dancer from Australia. She met her husband Robert Herjavec when he was her celebrity dance partner on Dancing With The Stars Season 20. They came in sixth place out of 12 couples, but walked away with so much more — a life-long friendship and eventual romance.
While Kym Herjavec enjoys a beautiful, happy life with her husband and two children, this week she’s heartbroken. On April 13, 2024, a 40-year-old man stabbed several people at a shopping mall in Bondi Junction, which is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. Six people died in the attack. Police officers shot and killed the man responsible.
After learning about the attack, Kym shared her feelings on social media.
“Absolutely Heartbroken 💔 ,” the former DWTS pro captioned her Instagram post. She attached a photo of two Australian flags being lowered to half-mast. “I am so shocked that something like this has happened in my beautiful home town. My heart is Broken for the families who lost loved ones and everyone affected by this senseless and horrific attack.”
Kym’s Instagram followers offered their condolences and also expressed sorrow and outrage over the tragedy. They left comments including:
- “I’m shattered [Kym]. Shattered.”
- “Tis a very sad day indeed, beyond devastating 😢❤️”
- “It is simply devastating, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all those who now live with the trauma and with Australia too🙏🏻 ❤️”
- “Such sad news. There [are] no words to describe this. Love to all of them 💗”
Other DWTS Pros Shone A Light On The Tragedy Too
Kym Johnson Herjavec hasn’t competed on Dancing With The Stars in several years, but she isn’t the only Australian dancer in connection with the show.
Fellow Australian dancer Sasha Farber also expressed sorrow on his Instagram story earlier in the week. He wrote that he called his parents and ensured their safety, as they regularly visited the shopping center. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear Sasha’s family was injured in the attack either.
