Edward Furlong had a rare reunion with his Terminator 2: Judgment Day co-stars, much to the delight of fans.
On Sunday, August 23, Robert Patrick took to Facebook with a photo of the unexpected reunion, 35 years after the 1991 sequel film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger premiered. The snapshot featured Furlong, 49, Michael Biehn, 70, Linda Hamilton, 69, and Patrick, 67.
“Skynet definitely didn’t have this reunion in the original programming,” he captioned the update. “T2 family back together.”
In Terminator 2, Hamilton played Sarah Connor, Patrick played T-1000, the liquid-metal, shape-shifting villain, Furlong portrayed a young John Connor, and Biehn played Kyle Reese — who died in the first movie, but had a flashback cameo in the second film that was scrapped. (He did, however, appear in a director’s cut.)
Terminator fans expressed their delight over seeing the actors together again, with one Facebook user declaring, “An epic reunion for sure.”
Another joked, “Mum, dad, son and the friendly neighbourhood cop… how wholesome.”
Someone else wrote, “Great to see folks from one of my favorite movie franchises of all time!”
A different follower pointed out, “Man, it strangely does the heart good to see you all together and doing well. Best wishes!”
Meanwhile, yet another Facebook user commented, “Eddie Furlong and Michael are looking great, glad they’re on the road to recovery.”
In addition to Schwarzenegger, Hamilton, Patrick, and Furlong, Terminator 2 featured Earl Boen, Joe Morton, S. Epatha Merkerson, Castulo Guerra, and Danny Cooksey, among others.
Furlong was 13 when he appeared as John Connor in Terminator 2. He was set to reprise his role in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines but was replaced by Nick Stahl amid struggles with drug addiction. However, he did contribute to 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate, via facial performance capture and reference, for a digitally de-aged John.
